;)I figured it out. Some of the people here at work are nuts about it...
As opposed to being just nuts? That's what I miss the most about working, the interaction at work. Somehow, that made me feel like I was pretty normal. Ever get to thinking your gasket is a little loose, just spend some time around a radio station and you might think you are the sanest person on the planet, maybe the only surviving one.

I had two GoT geeks working for me and every Monday afternoon they would do parts from the previous night's episode and they had this club of like-minded people and they called themselves The Throners, I assumed Gamers was already taken. They invited me over for a watch party a couple of times and fortunately I found excuses but what I found the funniest was how seriously they would describe their club like grownups do this all the time. I would often sit in my office and hear the verbal exchanges out in the hall and always felt the need to get up and make certain my door still locked from the inside.

Good morning Pops and friends. I normally sleep through thunderstorms that happen at night but not last night. This thunderstorm lasted all night into about 5AM. I woke up about 12:30 to marble size hail. Went back to bed. Woke up a couple hours later to a downpour accompanied with loud thunder. Went back to bed and woke up to a nice bfast. My wife loves to cook. Fresh flour tortillas and the works. According to the rain gage we got about 4” of rain last night. If given a chance I believe the Texas gulf coast would be a tropical rainforest. We get lots of rain. I know I’m jumping from topic to topic and my English teacher would probably take out her red pen and add comments and mark out some words and add some words and tell me not to use and more than once in a sentence but she’s not here. I don’t think

Have a great Friday everyone. MOM spelled upside down spells WOW for a reason. Moms are very special. I am amazed at their ability to multitask. A mother’s love for her children is something special to behold. I’m fortunate to still have my mother. She’s 93 and doing well considering.

Happy Mother’s Day to you moms out there. You are “Special” and not forgotten.

Morning Pops and drenched cellmates. Been reading about the trouble up Gramma's way and the mayor of that town where the casino was flooded is calling for some river research because they've been getting that 100 year flood every 2 years and smaller ones in between. Those pics that she posted of Davenport is just the tip of the iceberg. I wonder at what point we accept that all of this technology we are so keen on should be out to work on how to build better levees.

The forecast here has been modified down from load the liquor on the arc to a 40% chance of rain instead of those frog chokers. And you can bet they're breathing a sigh of relief as that bridge that was washed away in October is almost ready to open.

I hope all of you celebrating Mothers Day have a great one. If you are fortunate enough to still have your Mom with you, give her an extra hug and tell her that's from me. Man, what I wouldn't give for just 5 minutes to tell my Mom just how much she meant to me.

And speaking of telling people what they mean to you, and I was, don't just limit that to Moms because no one ever gets enough of that. Nothing fills the soul like being told you matter in someone's life so let those people know your life wouldn't be what it is without them in it. Unless you're having a really bad day and then it might sound like blame.
My sister and I were just discussing that very thing. I think as we are getting older we are realizing we aren't in our invincible youth anymore and nobody's tomorrow is guaranteed.

Lol, Throners... In my office that's a different kind of good morning after the coffee does its job!:muttley:

Morning Pops. Morning Fellas and good morning to all who stop this way before starting their Mother's Day Weekend.

Still raining here so I'm guessing that I will need to make an alternative plan to a Mother's Day BBQ. Is what it is.

So yeah, still raining here. Not complaining, we need the rain. What does everybody have planned for this weekend?

Jobs, Leon, dbrp, Xelda, zrin, Trouty, ksk, RGV, Coach, RWB, Ranching, SW, John, Jan, Corso and Colo, Happy Friday!

Everyone, hope you all have a great Mother's Day Weekend! God Bless all Mother's everywhere. Even the one's who may not be Mom's but for whatever reason, step up to the job and take on that responsibility. You are deserving of a day too!

Evening Pops and everyone.

Picked up one of the grands after work. He gets to spend the night with me which means staying up waaaayyy too late and watching Puppy Dog Pals until our eyes are burning. It's a good thing. Connor is 4, loves fruit, and above all is a blueberry fiend. He knows I always have them so had to inspect the contents of my refrigerator straight away upon entering my apartment. He had his little hallelujah moment as a glorious light shown down on the bounty he discovered: blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, mandarins, apples and pineapple. That kid... he's reminding me to be more excited about the simple child-like things. It's a happy place:).

Hope you all have a wonderfully simple weekend.

Happy Mother's Day to all you mommas. Remember - the world would be a truly empty place without us.:D

Good morning Pops and Zoner Friends.

Up very early this morning to stream an Australian rules football match. I lived in Perth, Australia for several years and became an avid fan of, not only the game, but the local Perth team, the West Coast Eagles. Aussie rules is a great, free-flowing game played on a field approximately 50% bigger than an NFL field. The game is a derivative of Gaelic football and, with 18 players on each side, the game resembles a cross between rugby, soccer, and a full-on riot...Great game.

The rain and snow has finally subsided and we are looking at several days of mid-60's to low-70's. About time as our front yard is a quagmire. Good thing I spent all last weekend putting in a sprinkler system... sarcasm.

Looking forward to the weekend... happy mother's day to all you moms out there!

Good morning Pops and friends. Been lucky where I am so far in dodging the forecast but Houston's been catching it and it wasn't that long ago that I sat here watching what Harvey did to that area and trying to stay in contact with my friend in the Galveston area. Read this morning that they opened the Bonnet Carre spillway west of NO that diverts part of the Mississippi into Lake Pontchartrain for the second time this year. That has only been opened a dozen times since 1927. With all of human advancement and how smart we think we are, it is still nature that owns this planet.

Happy Mothers Day Eve to all the Moms. By the way, know the difference between a mother and a Mom? A mother is made trough biological science; a Mom is made by choice. Where in the world would we be without all the Mom's? So, happy Mom's Day Eve.

Good morning Pops and friends. Another 3 or 4 inches expected today. You know CC, Harvey was definitely one for the record books but Tropical Storm Claudette in 1979 was something else. Nearby town Alvin, Tx got hit with 42” within a 24 hour period. The torrential downpour was unbelievable. It wouldn’t stop, it would slow down a little then it would start again. The mosquito plague that followed a few days later added to our misery.

My sister and I are rotating 3 weeks at a time looking after my mother. Tomorrow, weather permitting, I’m going to grill her up a nice juicy ribeye steak. She’s in pretty good health. Amazing what a little TLC can do.

42" in 24 hours is incredible!!

RGV, you're a fine son because a juicy ribeye is better than flowers and I would say jewelry, if not for knowing there are ladies among us.

Thank you sir. When the rain lets up, I’m going to get her some flowers. Supposed to be clear up tomorrow so bbqing is still on the agenda.
Supposed to be beeyoutifull here tomorrow, sunny, low 70's and I'll be having Mother's Day Mojito's. Made those for my parents when returning from trying to drink Key West and she loved them so I will have one for her and one for myself unless I get all emotional then I will have a pitcher for myself.

I try to mention this every holiday when families gather, and wish someone had planted this in my head, but I hope everyone just takes a minute to themselves and takes a look around that gathering and picture any one of those people missing from their life. That, my friends, will be the most enjoyable holiday imaginable. My greatest regret in life are those people, gifts, I took for granted. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have guilt as my drinking companion on holidays.

Good evening/night Pops and friends. I forced myself to do some of the chores that I've been putting off for half a year. After I hung my pegboard, I had to take it down and put it up right. A screw in the wall does not help if I miss the screw hole. I did some plumbing too. It didn't fix the problem but I found what could fix it so more plumbing is in my future. Through out the day I questioned my allergies to relationships.

I hope everyone had a good Mother's Day. Each and everyone of you are important to me and I hope my words are able to express that. Each one is special and unique. Thank you for the gift of you. Concerning diamonds versus steaks, I'll just hum a little Marilyn Monroe song.

Morning, Pops and pen pals. We had a beautiful warm and sunny day yesterday. Got a lot of pruning and other yard work done. I took the wife, MIL, and daughter out to dinner last night. Have a great day!
