Flowers tank and clark are all on the same level to me. Flowers didnt get it. Tank and clark are still wishing and hoping, but clarks not even injured and has out performed tank. Tanks nuts if he thinks he is going to get what he wants at this point.
like I said, needs to fire the greedy agent. He's leading him down a path of no return.

He has a non-exclusive tag and can talk to teams right now. If he was only going to get $15m, he would have accepted Dallas' $20m offer.
Obviously he will get more than 15, more in the range of flowers. Tank is injured and will miss games this season. Why would teams even talk to him right now not having surgery? What leverage on the open market does he have? "Hey guys ill need a year to get this shoulder right but you can bet on those 10.5 next year!"

LMAO, half the league has more than $20m in cap space. With bonus, guarantee structures, his cap hit could be a lot lower than that too. The Colts could basically give him $50m this year.

forgot about the colts, but they aren't about to pay him that. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN unless they are dumb enough to trade for him...even then, we can't trade him unless he signs the tag.

There’s still time for DLaw to fix the labrum and not miss any real time. Which means this is all positioning for a huge negotiation right now. If the “leverage” that has turned you to jelly here in this thread even gets the Joneses to spend time thinking about how to counter it, it’s worth doing from Lawrence’s camp.

I expect he’ll make a “concession” after the draft and get the work done so that he’s healthy for either the tag or the open market. It’s in his interest to play a full season, so he very likely will. Not many players are going to be willing to follow Leveon Bell off the cliff.
Agree, his agent has him playing the game the only way he can now and based on how the Cowboys have reacted in the past with threats from a tagged player not to show, I can't fault him for negotiating just like a lawyer. Until the Cowboys show they're not a rollover for a player, they are just that with a prime player.

His agent might play this differently with NE or PIT but DAL's history works against them.

If that were me, I would be playing the NE game and getting whatever I can for a player that could break the bank.

What are you talking about?

The point of giving him $50m this year - or frontloading - is to lighten the cap hit the rest of the way. Mack got $60m at signing, Lawrence at $50m shouldn't be shocking.

He doesn't have to sign the tag. The whole point of a non-exclusive tag is that players can negotiate elsewhere and the team has an opportunity to match. The tag means that the Cotlts would also have to give two first-round picks, which is what would stop them.

Abebeta, listen...the guy hasn't done himself any favors. Why is that somehow NOT on him? lol...By him refusing to sign the franchise tag, even if Dallas and DLAW wanted to make a trade happen, they can't...because of the trade compensation the tag garners. Its set. DLAW can play hard ball all he wants to, that's fine.It will get him nothing. But if he acted like a professional and signed it, fixed the shoulder, THEN I guarantee you we would see a longterm deal get done sometime before week 1 of the season. This is not how you do business if your DLAW.

Not getting the surgery matters a lot more than not signing the franchise tag. By not signing the franchise tag, he's not officially obligated to attend OTA's or minicamp and risk injury before negotiating a big contract. That's just smart. Refusing to get the surgery is not so smart, as it may decrease his value to both the Cowboys and other teams, if the Cowboys choose to remove the tag without coming to a long-term agreement.

DEEP BREATHING....ok...NOTHING can be done trade-wise until he signs the tag. To date, he hasn't signed it. He says he won't btw. We have said we won't do a longterm deal until he fixes the shoulder and signs his tag. BALL IS IN HIS COURT TO DO WHAT HE SHOULD BE DOING.

not true. can't be traded til he signs the tag...unless the 2 sides agree on something else, an alternative agreement.

Will be a huge sob story if he ends up waiting and we resend the tag and no one signs him and he has to sit out this year and his agent costs him 20 million. We thought bell pulled a dumb move at leaving 14.5 on the table. And his agent loses 600k for his portion.

If he agrees to sign with the Colts and the Cowboys don't match, it's not a trade. Dallas would get compensation picks. That does not change whether Lawrence signs or not.

many don't understand how the tag works glimmer. Nothing can happen until its signed. The only caveat is if the team rescinds it and other compensation is agreed to...via a new deal or a trade.

he cant do that. He isn't a free agent of any sort right now. We still own his rights.
