I heard that one day Wade Phillips wanted mustard on his hot dog but Jerry overruled him and wade had to go with ketchup instead.
Randy Moss would not have changed anything in Dallas. Chan Gailey wasn't a good coach and they followed him up with Dave Campo. Aikman was at the end of his career and the team as a whole had a lot of holes on it. They weren't going to win a Superbowl with Moss. Plus he would have wilted under the pressure of being a Cowboy and probably been out of the league within 5 years. And Randy smoked more than just a little herb. Chan also tried to limit Michael Irvin in the offense.
Not saying Moss would've propelled them to a Super Bowl but he made Randall Cunningham, Dante Culpepper and Jeff George look like all-pros - imagine how he would've done with a real QB like Aikman. Turned the game into street ball, just throw it up regardless of coverage and he came down with it. He would've made much more of an impact than an average DE from North Carolina.
In 1975, Dallas could have taken Walter Payton (who went 2 picks later) instead of Randy White...interesting...
Two great players. You couldn't have gone wrong with, either. It is cool to imagine how Landry would have utilized Payton.
Atta boy Chan. Way to give up on a future hall of famer because he smoked a little herb for a mediocre defensive end.
.
Never heard that before. Glad we didn't pull the trigger on that.
The day of the NFL draft there was a rep from the Cowboys in the home town of Randy Moss. He truly thought he was going to be a Cowboy that day.
What do you think they would have done with the #1 pick in 1977? Would they still have taken Dorsett with Walter already there?

Even with revisionism and retrospect at our disposal, you still say Randy Moss, perhaps one of the greatest and most talented WRs ever, would have not changed anything? Come on now.
What a depressing thread.
There isn't anything depressing about missing out on James Francis and settling for Emmitt Smith.
