They have problems you can't fix over a year. They don't have a talented offensive line. They don't have talent at receiver. And QB play is not good enough. Also have big defensive holes.

I agree that there were all kinds of issues for them Sunday, and some of those will definitely be hard to fix. The line has definitely got some issues. Bradford is a hot and cold quarterback. Their secondary appears to be a bigger mess than it was last year, partly because the coordinator refuses to help out the corners.

I don't think the receivers are any worse than our group right now, though, but they don't have a Dez coming back at some point this season.

Murray still has gas in the tank, he just doesn't have a chance with that OL blocking for him. Did you not watch the game? The Cowboys had 9 freaking TFL in that game. Hell, Sean Lee had three by himself! I believe every single one of those against Murray. Murray doesn't make people miss and he damn sure isn't going to make Lee miss.

Right you are. The Eagles signed him just to hurt the Cowboys. I think Shady McCoy was a better fit for them.

2 yards on 13 carries??:laugh:Only a fumble kept his day from being complete.

I noticed Murray still holding the ball away from his body like a loaf of bread. He'll never learn.

Murray wanted to be paid like a top player and this had absolutely nothing to do with seeing what the team was building.

He didn't clean his locker out until right before he left. He went to sporting events with the head coach and quarterback. He did everything he could to let them know he wanted to stay.

They gave him a low ball offer in relationship to the season he just accomplished. Never budged on their offer. And allowed him to walk.

Let's not rewrite history. Nate Newton spoke at length this past off season about how Murray mismanaged the off season and should have emptied his locker and left immediately at the end of the season. That Murray should have shown them he was willing to leave.

Further, Dallas was holding out hope for Peterson.

So your assessment that he left because of the way they were building the team is inaccurate. The FO offered him below market value for a starting running back who led the league in rushing. Then essentially shoved him out the door.

The fan base started in the moment after the GB loss to paint him as average. And I cannot remember in the entire time this franchise has been together any player garnering so little respect after he accomplished so much beyond Murray.

You don't pay for the previous year, you pay for the future. Dallas made a decision on how much they could spend at the RB position and stuck to their guns--I even think that they may have budged a tad and upped their offer for Demarco. I loved Murray, but this was the right move. I would rather lock up Dez, Crawford, and our other FAs than to get locked into a long term contract and hamstring our cap for an RB. I still think Murray is a top 10 back if you use him right. I can tell our run game is not the same without him, especially short yardage, but walking away from that contract was the right move to keep out team competitive in the short and long terms.

Murray would be great If he were playing for a team like the 49ers or Jets - teams that have a power running game. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if Murray gets moved before the trade deadline; especially if Philly keeps playing the way they have been.

Ol Chip is just going through the motions until he can bolt to Tennessee and reunite with his boy.

You nailed it. Great post.

The way they handle the Murray situation could end up being one of the bigger personnel mistakes the FO has made in recent years. We will be still trying to replace what he brought to the team for a long time. When Dez Bryant text Mike Irvin " what are we doing" and Romo is campaigning for the FO to keep Murray that tells me all I need to know.

Crawford or Murray? Not even close. Who is easier to replace? People said anyone could run behind this line...turns out it isn't that easy. Our line had a style that was perfect fit for Murray and vise versa.
Now the same people that spent months trying to convince everyone else that it was the line and not Murray are suddenly creating all kinds of excuses for the lack of production of our running game. It's funny that we didn't need these excuses last year when we brought a swagger and physical style we no longer have.

is at his " Eddie George " stage in his career. Murray's prime ended Week 12 of last year and the decline looks to be very steep and very fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew's winds up the starter sometime this season and Murray and plays 2 years of his contract.

LOL..............ahahahaahahahahaha!!!!!! Is this the newest excuse for the Muddy apologists?

Ummmm.........NO, Murray just was NEVER that good. Solid back all around, but unless you give him monster holes and a running start, he is average at best.

LOL.........You have to be joking. AFter watching Murray bumble in Philly for two games for you to still say it was mistake is 100% absolute blind #$%#. If anything, these first two games have proven that they did the right thing by letting Murray walk out of town. Best decision they made this off season.

Clearly you've only been looking at the stats of Murray in Philly and not the actual game play. Murray isn't getting any yards, because the Philly OL is freaking AWFUL.

When you're consistently getting tackled for a loss, that means you don't have any blocking whatsoever!

And now with Romo down we will miss his style of running even more.

Oh I see. Our running backs struggles are because of the line yet Murrays struggles are because of Murray.
It makes no difference what Murray does in Philly. We are not philly. Our running game is struggling right now. They will need to step up and carry the team. So far they have not shown the ability. Murray isn't declining. His situation has declined......but so has ours.

I don't think hes done by any stretch. His line was terrible today.

His line is just terrible and I don't see how it gets better. I hate to keep harping, but, despite all the media love, it was bad last year too and has only gotten worse. McCoy WAS the Philadelphia ground game last year, and as good as Murray is, he's not the same kind of RB.

We're only two games in, so I think it's a huge mistake to bury Chip and his boys, but unlike all the folks who bought the preseason hype I'm still waiting for the Chip Kelly experiment to prove itself.

It's really too bad DeMarco didn't give the Cowboys a chance to make a last offer. He and the Cowboys both would be better off with him in Dallas.

No, Murray just isnt as good as you thought. And certainly the situation in Dallas has changed has it not?

If Murray was so good, then why cant he do anything in Philly? Your argument simply doesnt hold water.

The situation is EXACTLY as some have told you. Murray was ONLY good in Dallas for ONE year because he got 400 carries behind an incredible line in an incredible offense. Now that he doesnt have that, he is toast. And the Philly fans are reeling at the contract.

We dont want Murray here in Dallas. He is nothing special.

Regardless of what you think about Murray... At the very minimum you have to agree he is not a 8 million dollar a year running back.

It absolutely blows my mind that they got rid of McCoy. He was the perfect running back for that type of system, with all of it's stretch plays and sweeps. Chip is an idiot, and I love it
