Murray is in decline

Murray chased the money instead of realizing the benefits of staying on a team that fits his running style.

I'm happy it's working out so poorly for him because that's to our benefit.

Not only now, but in the future. He's essentially torpedoed the Eagles cap situation if it doesn't work out, which by all measure so far, looks to be the case.

When you look at all the moves made by the Eagles in the off-season, it is hard not to conclude that they just wanted to see what would stick. At this point it's running like diarrhea. Murray isn't in decline, he just does not fit a prototypical Kelly offense, at least not historically.

"For the second year in a row, DeMarco Murray is smashing records.

It’s just a little different this year.

Last year’s NFL rushing leader is off to the worst start by a running back in NFL history.

Murray’s 11 yards are the fewest on record — going back to 1960 — through two games by a back with at least 20 carries."

I know it is not all on him, but what a difference a year makes...

I don't see how he retains credability on his own team, if he changes his 'scheme' to fit a player. Murray is the downhill runner, who's vision is impaired somewhat when attempting all the outside runs.

The running back that would excell in that role, was traded off.

And the Eagles deserve the flagrant flippancy with an offensive line to get to a top shelf level as well.

Being right in a team sport, doesn't mean a thing in a team sport. No, of course not. Just couldn't. Why should it?

Murray (21 carries, 11 yards rushing) is the first player since the AFL-NFL merger to have more than 20 carries and fewer than 20 yards in the first two games of the season. He's not even halfway to the previous low (Ki-Jana Carter, 21 carries for 27 yards in 1996).

You forgot...

Yup, I love DeMarco and I always will, even if it bites us in the azz this season. I'm glad he got paid but this is going to be like the Jason Hatcher deal with Washington, a little bit of pain in the first year but then several years of us thanking God we didn't resign him.

Murray has been terrible so far and I love it

He is terrible fit for that offense and it is blowing up in Kelly's face

I don't think he is physically done, that hurdle was insane, but he hasn't shown much else

He might be a good guy but in no way did we screw him. Philly decided to make him an offer far above his true value and there was no way we were going to match it. Murray saw what the Cowboys are building and decided he didn't want to be a part of it and left.

Agreed...........we did not screw Murray one bit.

We offered Murray $6 million a season..................and he said NO

That's on him, not us.

Enjoy the next 5 years in that dumpster fire of an organization, DeMarco. Hope that extra $ is worth it.

Don't think Murray is in decline, he's just not an elite runner like the Eagles paid him to be. It's obvious he benefited from a good OL & playmakers like Romo/Dez. Chipper got rid of his offensive playmakers & screwed the OL up. Demarco has zero help. At least he got paid for it.....

Did Matthew's even play today because I swear didn't hear his name once?

he had 1 carry for no gain, sproles 1 for -4 .
Thing is their backs were being tackled in the backfield, Their line and schemes are awful.
They are not going to be having any success running unless they change some things.
Chip is a idiot !
Murray is probably wishing he had stayed in dallas tonight.

The one run on pass where he jumped over carr shows he is fit and ready to go, he is just on a really crappy team with idiot coach.
They let the 2 guards go, and that was a mistake.

It seems to me that his offense only works when the QB is threat to run. Bradford doesn't scare anyone that way. In fact the D wants him to run so they can smash him.

I don't think that has proven to be 'obvious' at all. What the Eagles put forth today was some of the worst OL play you will ever see. I swear football fans are clueless.

You can make that same dumb *** comment about Emmitt Smith.

Murray's failure (and the rest as well) tonight is due to his OL getting beat by our DL. What'd they get....13 yards give or take. That's all their RBs.
