Murray is in decline

I don't think that has proven to be 'obvious' at all. What the Eagles put forth today was some of the worst OL play you will ever see. I swear football fans are clueless.

You can make that same dumb *** comment about Emmitt Smith.

Some people lack reading comprehension. I said pretty much the same damn thing you just said. The Eagles OL played like ****. Dallas OL played well when Murray was there. Obvious why he was able to run for over 1800 yards right???

I think Murray would take slightly below average right now because that would be an upgrade!

I don't see how you can evaluate any RB with the way that OL performed today.

Well, I agree with you there. I stated earlier I don't think he's in decline, he's just not the elite runner he's being paid to be. Murray can't hit the edge like Chip wants him to. He's an inside runner and the Eagles are getting killed between the guards on their OL.

That was not about Murray. It was more of the fact our defense played lights out football. They're number one vs the rush and top 3 in the NFL.

Murray's failure (and the rest as well) tonight is due to his OL getting beat by our DL. What'd they get....13 yards give or take. That's all their RBs.

they only got 2 yards net if you dont count bradfords runs.

It seems to me that his offense only works when the QB is threat to run. Bradford doesn't scare anyone that way. In fact the D wants him to run so they can smash him.

yeah it no longer is the read option.
So really they should run some plays from under center.
Chip got rid of the only 2 qb that could actually run the ball.
The run blocking is awful.
Plus dallas and atlanta both have good run defenses.

What amazed me was how easy Mincey and Lawrence got back there a couple of times. Almost like they were squaring off versus a pylon.

Murray chased the money instead of realizing the benefits of staying on a team that fits his running style.

I'm happy it's working out so poorly for him because that's to our benefit.
He might be a good guy but in no way did we screw him. Philly decided to make him an offer far above his true value and there was no way we were going to match it. Murray saw what the Cowboys are building and decided he didn't want to be a part of it and left.

Murray wanted to be paid like a top player and this had absolutely nothing to do with seeing what the team was building.

He didn't clean his locker out until right before he left. He went to sporting events with the head coach and quarterback. He did everything he could to let them know he wanted to stay.

They gave him a low ball offer in relationship to the season he just accomplished. Never budged on their offer. And allowed him to walk.

Let's not rewrite history. Nate Newton spoke at length this past off season about how Murray mismanaged the off season and should have emptied his locker and left immediately at the end of the season. That Murray should have shown them he was willing to leave.

Further, Dallas was holding out hope for Peterson.

So your assessment that he left because of the way they were building the team is inaccurate. The FO offered him below market value for a starting running back who led the league in rushing. Then essentially shoved him out the door.

The fan base started in the moment after the GB loss to paint him as average. And I cannot remember in the entire time this franchise has been together any player garnering so little respect after he accomplished so much beyond Murray.

is at his " Eddie George " stage in his career. Murray's prime ended Week 12 of last year and the decline looks to be very steep and very fast.

I wouldn't be surprised if Matthew's winds up the starter sometime this season and Murray and plays 2 years of his contract.

Hardly, He's not a fit for an east/west running team. You can praise Murray at the end of the year as the Cowboy who's acquisition was the primary reason Kelly gets fired.

Murray would still be getting his yards here. The difference is that he isn't a fit for Philly's style.

Murray is still good. The problem is the blocking and running scheme there is not the same and their oline play has been bad.

Not only now, but in the future. He's essentially torpedoed the Eagles cap situation if it doesn't work out, which by all measure so far, looks to be the case.

I think the Eagles will get it figured out at some point this year, and Kelly will learn that you can't make mass changes to your personnel and not expect them to take some time to settle in.

However, if the offensive line troubles continue and Kelly can't get his system and Murray on the same page, it could certainly continue. I hate to see a good back go to ruin, but it couldn't happen in a better place.

I don't think they'll figure it out this year. They're talent poor.

Kelly will be back in college either this summer or the one after. He'll come back later like Pete Carroll after learning how to coach. Remember - he's barely really done anything. He was at Oregon for about four years after coming from some no name school.

They have problems you can't fix over a year. They don't have a talented offensive line. They don't have talent at receiver. And QB play is not good enough. Also have big defensive holes.

That's possible. I think he's definitely learning a lesson about personnel this season, and hope the Eagles remain dysfunctional for the entire year.

Plus, add in all the hype about Kelly from the media and I wonder if that got in his head.

He was crowned the next great coach after doing nothing

I disagree on the defensive side of the ball. Their front 7 is pretty good, and you always hear, when that is good, it makes the corners better. The problem is, the defense is always on the field. They are gassed, and it is not their fault. Chip Kelly does not understand Time of Possession.
