Murray offered 4yr/16mi

What does everyone think Williams would do behind this line? Pass blocking goes to Murray obviously, Williams would catch the ball just as well IMO. From what I have seen, Williams would be pretty damn good behing this line. Thoughts?

It is hard to project that when he did nothing in Arizona and lost his job to unheralded players and then obviously was seen as the 4th best back here.

Marshawn Lynch is in the 3rd year of a 4 year/30 million dollar contract, 17 million of which is guaranteed. The Boys will probably have to get at least into that neighborhood to sign DeMarco, IMO.

Bye Demarco.

cowboys/jerry can't mess up this ap thing. this is like a gift from the angels when you think about it. they might be able to get ap for 3yrs/9mill and allow us to focus our resources on dez, leary, harris, linebackers.

Not sure if 3/9 is the going rate for AP in free agency. We'll see though. I just think the Cowboys aren't in a rush obviously to offer Murray big money, and I don't think anything will change that.

I don't understand this, you have a guy who's carrying the bacon and you low ball him in the middle of the season...go figure.

Yep. Don't piss off the guy who might single-handedly bring us to the playoffs.

Franchise number this year was 9.5m, don't think that is a realistic option

And it's probably not even on the table given the $16 mil, 4 year offer. If the Cowboys value him at $4 mil per year, they certainly aren't going to spend $9.5 mil for one season on him.

I'm sure there's enough guaranteed money that Murray can live comfortably the rest of his life.
4 years for 16
Or
3 years for 15
We may go up on this deal, but if Jerry pays Murray 7 million/year, then he's still an idiot.

This OL is playing with a rookie and two 2nd year guys in the middle. This OL is only going to improve. I really appreciate Murray's efforts, but this 4/16 offer is very fair for a player who has not been special in the past, nor healthy. He either takes the deal or gambles that he can keep this up for 16 games.

I'm happy with Murray, but imagine what a shifty, illusive back would do behind this line. Do not pay top dollar.

i think it will be btw 9-15mill for 3 yrs. i think man is ready to come home. the lure of playing for his favorite team and playing with this oline for 3 years will be a big bargaining chip for jerry. some markets will not take him, period. the loser markets like the raiders might come after him but i can't see him taking an extra 5-8 mill to go lose more games. the man is ready to come home and he's ready to win for the first time in his career. this is the best place for him. you don't call jerry jones in the offseason like that unless you're ready to work under jerry's terms. he will come to the bargaining table humble and willing to sacrifice.

I wonder if opinions would change should Murray be held to 40 yards the next two weeks or continues fumbling every week.

Maybe, we'll see.

The team could probably swallow a year at that rate....and you are hopefully paying him top dollar for top performance. You are making sure that you aren't risking the future on a bad deal. If the tag number was 6-7m, I would pay it no problem even f you did it for two years.

That is the hilarious part...on game day when he has fumbling all these people are screaming bench him and no way is he getting a long term deal....no the Cowboys make an offer and people act like he should be insulted and he is the best RB ever. He's not. He is a good back that is benefitting from a very good OL.

Through 4 games, Murray had 327 yds before contact. In theory, any able bodied person could do that. Murray is good, but he is only a part of the equation.

Yeah they could...

But they won't.

I'd be almost 100% certain that they wouldn't.

Hey, if they had offered say 4 years at $30 mil, I could see the stretch into a franchise year at $9.5, but at 4/16, it's screaming that the Cowboys do not value him anywhere close to 9.5 mil.
