Vander Esch is garbage and will get exposed again in run defense against the 49ers.
I guess we will see, last year only means so much, but he had a pretty nice game against the 49ers in the playoffs. CMC really wasn't a huge factor in that game.

LVE is the weakest part of our defense. Don't believe me? Go watch some film.... He's slow to the hole. Takes the wrong angles. And can't shed blocks. This guy is like 255 and getting thrown around like a bag of potatoes. Go look for yourselves. Defense would of been a lot better if Overshown never got hurt. Niners our gonna attack LVE and try to get him in single coverage-just watch...

I read on Cowboyszone. I get on the Youtube shows. And I hear a lot of talk about how Vander Esch is the problem.

Pardon me?

Are we even watching the same game? He just happens to play in the shadow of Parsons. And if he didn't, he'd be one of our better players. He just plays a different role than I think we'd have him playing, if Parsons were otherwise not here.

Parsons is a luxury, but Vander Esch came up big today when called upon, and that's why I believe he's still here: he bought into DQs system and rides and dies by the sword of DQ. He showed it last year. He certainly wasn't the problem at San Fran. He just takes on a lot of responsibility in his role. He's also tough, and he'll be out there if he can.

Anyway, the other thing people are freaking out about is Deuce. You have to chill on that because he is going to get stuffed two times. Then bust a 20 yarder on you. Or longer. It's just how he plays. People are going to love him and hate him.

I'm glad to see Gallup still making progress. I want to see him work on his speed, week to week. Like really focus on his speed as a player. And from there, I think it could still be nothing but up for him. He'll have to get better over these next 6 weeks. And I think he will. He needs to check himself though, and get faster.

Still, it hasn't been an easy road for MG. And I don't think it will be an easy ride for Diggs either, given how important it is for CBs to cut and change speeds, accelerate, overall agility etcetera. Everyone says 1 year for an ACL. But it's more like 18 months even with the stem cell treatment. And we're getting there with Diggs, who I think will partake in the most succinct path to recovery possible.

I also want to give a shout out to my boy Doran Bland. The guy has some game and really just needed a shot, imo. I hope he keeps up the consistent, persistent work ethic. I see a future star in the making, perhaps.
Give me a break. LVE got his just credit when played well in the past. He is not very good now and needs to be replaced.

Honestly... Deuce shouldn't be playing. Many of you got heart eyes from one game against 3rd stringers. To me, we should have kept Davis. He's a better RB.
I'll be honest. I've been a little disappointed in how Deuce has performed. I have to say, though, I wonder if it's the play caller. Or design.

Definitely not living up to my expectations.

He is what he is. As has been said he's easily fooled and fills the wrong gaps. Nothing to brag about. shrugs.
This is how I see it, good summary.

Sorry OP, but LVE has been bad alot more times than he has been good. Another one of these "has beens" who should be cut from the team. I'm not saying he's our biggest problem, but he definately isn't among the solutions either.

Actually he has another season left on his deal and he's so affordable, the only way he's not around is if he's hurt.
If you notice, LVE doesn't hit anyone with his helmet if he can help it. That is how his injuries happen. He has a weak neck. He has games where he's all over the place and others where you don't even know he's out there. He better be out there this sunday.

I'm in the camp that he can be a pretty decent player in some games and quite underwhelming in other games. If I'm a coach, he's not keeping me awake at night but I'm always looking for a replacement.

One thing is for sure. He's better now that he isn't feeding off Jaylon's **** show.

He's a good player but that's it he's average as it comes for a middle linebacker I mean I like him...

I made one mistake and this was my thoughts in the offseason we missed out only on one free agent and I think that it was a mistake paying LVE we could've let him test the market and see what he really should have been paid.

In hindsight, I would have brought in Bobby Wagner but I was the one last year that said he cost too much when he was with the Rams in 22, we should have took him that year and we would have still had him this year. Bobby Wagner is better than LVE we could have had him for about the same price and that's the only regret I have from the offseason look at this dude still play Wagner is just ridiculous... He's one of those players that seems to have the fountain of youth like Terrell Owens guys that play along time that never seem to be hurt. Add in his veteran presents in the locker room and his experience in big games I think it was definitely a mistake and I was one of the ones who said no no way he's too old too expensive don't get him and right now I am got egg on my face and I'm backtracking and I wish we would have picked this dude up..

I was against getting him in 2022 because I thought he was older I thought he cost too much but looking out he played in 22 and so far to start this season..

I'm a fan, the stats didn't lie last year in the run game when he was in and when he wasn't. He isn't the greatest but has turned into a reliable player the team can count on.

I like LVE but he's slow and it really shows when he plays against teams with speed.

That's why he looks good some weeks and then we play a fast team like the Cardinals he seems a few steps behind on plays.
I'm not defending L VE I'm gonna tell you right now your post is ridiculous you do realize that our entire defense looked bad against the Cardinals they were out of place out of position they couldn't get to the edges they all looked slow including Micah Parsons including all our safeties Donovan Wilson all these dudes they looked bad period it was a team loss you using that game to make your point and your narrative against LV sorry wrong one pick another one the entire defense laid an egg and you're picking out LE cause he couldn't get to the edges dude this is gonna be another game yeah in San Francisco we better be able to get to the edges as a team I mean you get one guy out of place that's where the ball carrier is going that's all you need and it happened all over and it wasn't really it will be E that created those holes it's hard for a middle linebacker to be a middle linebacker if everybody else up front on the edges are not doing their job including the safeties and let's stop bringing up Arizona we could throw that one out for everyone worst game of the year so far team wise there was nothing good happened in that game really other than the run game seemed pretty good for us but they were letting us do that I believe running the clock out on ourselves just letting us just methodically eat the clock by but doing nothing at the end..

He played well this game, poorly against the Cards (who didnt) and when he plays poorly people overreact here. Not sure why. I have one theory.

You can disagree of course, but I have gone back and watched the games a few times and there are many times that LVE has looked slow or occasionally lost.

He has made some good plays at times, including some that he made good reads on, but he ends up chasing vertically too often and he has fallen into tackles more than you would expect.

I do not think he is a bad player by any means, and maybe its the system he is in now, but he makes mistakes during games that a player with his experience should not be making and he simply does not have the speed to make up for it when it happens.

Players make bad reads all the time, even great players, but their speed can usually compensate most of the time.

LVE doesn't have that luxury, so he needs to make better reads so he can use his size to his advantage.

I don't watch the games that closely I mean once the plays are over the replays over... I move on...

dude I mean you guys should too,

I mean what's the deal with three and one we had one bad game and if that bad game is what people are judging LVE on the whole entire team should be fired and we should move the team somewhere else I heard San Antonio wants a pro team hmm

I mean you know maybe they can get a Super Bowl in 27 years with a better middle linebacker, better qb, a deeper & better healthier OL, Better any thing and everything the fanbase seems to overthink atrent good enough LOL

I don't know but yeah the nonsense in here with the overreactions the over thinking and judgments of players,

look,

Ill trust the judgment Dan Quinn and that defensive staff knows who should be playing and who shouldn't be.. The over analyzation of our players play by play and game by game it gets old you're right no player is perfect but if we're going back to Arizona, Micah Parsons is terrible, we should trade him lOl

Today was one of his better games...

the way he hit the hole to stop runs was a thing of beauty

but heres why he doesnt get his props....hes more of an old school early 90s type of linebacker...

The ones that make the right reads and are always around the ball hes not the flashy 4.3 prototyple lb that can also cover tight ends as well as rush the passer
Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, Junior Seau, Zach Thomas, Ken Norton Jr., Chris Spelman, Levon Kirkland...
No way LVE could play in the 90's at MLB. He's soft. He's hesitant. He gives up too many yards arm tackling. I like the guy, but he's a JAG who flashes occasionally and regresses often.

Just forget about this year's game in Arizona.
LVE is a JAG. I like him, but that is a statement that has years of tape to back up. You can't have a stud at every position. Sometimes, you need the right JAG.

Your post is all over the place. The analogy with Parsons makes no sense. But you admit that you don't watch tape. Or, watch the games that closely. So, I guess that explains your post.
