The Raiders were embarrassing...especially with their second pick, Mike Mitchell. Hey, the guy may turn out to be good, but they letterally could have picked him up in the 6th or 7th round or even as a FA. Crazy!

Heyward-Bey to a much much lesser degree was a reach, so maybe they couldn't find a trading partner. For sure they could have picked up a third or maybe a 2nd to drop back and still get him.

Yeah but everyone knows that the raiders is a joke....

See, I debate that. Jason Peters is a hack with no motor. I fear Ruynan more then Peters. Sean Jones over Brian Dawkins..........I would much rather face Jones.

As far as the draft. Macklin is a clone of Jackson. They still don't have that big WR in the redzone or a guy that is going to kill you over the middle.

It's a wash at RB. McCoy could be the answer a few years from now but he's going to have a very limited roll as long as Westrbook is there.

In this case, it truly is the in eye of the beholder...so I hear you.

But I look at thier draft and no issue with a single pick that they made--which is amazing. All 8 picks seem like good value at where they were chosen and what impact that could have on the team given where they were taken.
It could turn out that they all suck, but up front it looks very strong to me.
I liked what Chicago did on day 2 as well.

I find it laughable that people can claim following a draft, "OMG this draft sucks. We're going 5-11." Like a draft class has that much effect on the season in which it was drafted. Please.

We'll feel the effects -- good or bad -- of this class in two, three and four years.

It's not like if we played our cards right, we could have landed two or three immediate starters, plus a Pro Bowler, this weekend.

And, just for the sake of full disclosure, I'm skeptical of this draft. But come on. Be realistic.

We could of gotten some starters but with our coaching staff they don't like to move the depth chart and bench ppl for not performing somones feelings may get hurt.

It'll fall on deaf ears.

I'm skeptical too, but the 5-11 stuff is childish.

"Some" starters? Find me the starter(s) we could have found with our 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Micheal Hamlin Another guy that was projecting 3rd 4th round that we were able to get in the 5th however, I'm not a fan on his. I don't get the hype behind him nor do I think he will help in the secondary. His last name is Hamlin which is a big no no IMO. IDC if it's bais but Ken Hamlin sucks and this guy wont be any better. Teams will still go over the top on us.

All credibility in your post gone, right there.

Every single guy you mentioned is a project. Michael Johnson? Thats a good one. Heres a guy who prior to this past season at Georgia Tech, was considered a top ten 1st rounder. So what does he do? lay a big egg. The clssic underachiever slid down alot of teams boards. The only possible starter in this group would be Gilbert.

Are you saying these are the possible starters we could have got?

Yep, you're right. We totally missed out on finding a quarter of a team worth of new immediate starters right there. :laugh2:

Pat McQuistan couldn't beat out Cory Proctor at left guard, Cory Proctor.

Brewster was a good value pick in round three. He hasn't played a down, and you've already given yourself a legit chance to upgrade. In fact, you've already upgraded.

This guy is the new tackle/guard. Phillips says he can play four offensive line positions.

I think this guy has a shot to be the starting LG at some point.

He looks a universe better than James Marten and Jacob Rodgers . I'll tell you that much.

I don't think it's suffers from a lack of coachability as more it suffers from poor coaching. No I don't want to hear when wade took over the d blah blah blah. Nor do I want to hear excuses about injury. Injury happens and no you will not be deep at every position as where are at the RB position. However, anyone with half a brain could see how terrible proctor was and yet we stuck with him. People knew brad johnson was finished in pre season yet we didn't get a credible back up. Bobby Carpenter suck still suck yet he still on the roster. Know we want to give the young WR time to develop because we may have something special with them  Didn't they say that last year when they cut TG? Then turn around and trade for RW 4 weeks into the season because they weren't getting it done. Supposedly we're cleaning house and getting rid of the indivuals and stuff. Why is Bennett still here then? That doesn't make much since considering what he did in the off season. How poor his work ethic is. You don't build team commrodary by getting rid of a couple of players it hasn't to be something that the coaches instill which they don't. I'm not the biggest BP if anyone has seen me post about that guy but I did like the thing he did with the star and the helmet.

well we are kind of on the same page there about the coaching staff. I think this will be Wade's last yr and I do not think Wade has the leadership skills for this team. My trust in our OC is on the fence. I blame alot on him for last yr, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt being that he was hand tied trying to appease TO.

My man, you're posting good stuff 85 % + of the time. Always have. This post is 99.999%. Nothing but factual statements and questions based on facts.

I saw Jerry and Stephen Jones run a draft on the weekend my friend. Not just Jerry, it's just as much as Stephen too now. Some very scary stuff. Stephen be on the phones more than even Jerry in that war room.

We're totally summoned to these guys being GM's for the livelyhood of this franchise. If this nonsense keeps on,i have no choice but to stop talking football because I have no shot. Totally gonna get blown out. No energy for these guys. None!!!

Yeah 5-11. The problems with the team won't be gone. Also adding players for ST is also asinine. No back up center? Really? no full back really? Anderson blows and so does proctor.

And of course, any team that has no fullback or backup center automatically goes 5-11...

ROTFLMAO...

FWIW, you might want to take a closer look at the roster, there are two rather interesting possibilities to replace Procter as the backup center-- Matt Spanos and Ryan Gibbons... both are bigger and considerably more physical than Cory is...

And what exactly is so asinine about adding special teams players, when your special teams last year were awful, bad enough that they might well have cost the Boys a game or two?? With better special teams play, the Boys might have gone 11-5 last year...
