Y’all missing the point, it was given to you a few weeks ago. In Dallas’s wins the season, Dak on average has had 1.2 seconds extra time in the pocket then he did during our losses. And if you go back to seasons past, it’s also the same way. Dak does not make decisions fast enough to be an elite quarterback. It’s THAT simple….He’s second-guessing himself. When we are getting an extra 1.2 seconds in the pocket you can get away with it and even make some great plays. But when you have to make spontaneous decisions? Dak chokes. He hesitates and makes slow reads. All you have to do is go back to his scouting reports to see this. This is one of those things either a player has or they don’t. They are born with it. Dak doesn’t have it. If the offensive line can continue to give him that extra one second to pass? Just like any quarterback at the NFL level, he’ll tear you up. Otherwise, you get what he is, mediocre. End of story.
All quarterbacks at the NFL level can make incredible throws. Can thread the needle. Can throw on a rope. Obviously some better than others but they all can do it. Or they wouldn’t be there. What distinguishes the difference between great quarterbacks and mediocre quarterbacks is their ability to read the Defense quickly, and make spontaneous decisions. Go back and look at any of the greats. They all have that ability. Dak is a good QB, but he’s not winning games by himself. He can’t. And that’s also the reason why he’s reached his peak pay potential. For Dak to be successful he hast to have every piece in place around him. Which means lots of salary cap flexibility. Paying him $60 million a year is going to take that away and Dak Will end up retiring early because of it. That’s how bad it will be if we pay him that kind of money. Jerry won’t be able to put the talent around him that he has now.
