Has Durant given us a full season since he's been here? So pay him more $ that can go to FA in areas of need (DE) so he can just back up Lee vs drafting someone with youth who will be cheaper down the road and doing essentially the same thing you want Durant to do?

Durant knows the scheme and will come cheap. At his age he shouldn't be much. He Wil be the depth at all LB spots. Hitch will be the starter at the Sam. I'm all for drafting a LB for depth but not 2nd round where you can get a player at position where we can get a starter.in the 2nd you should be able to find a DL, CB, WR, OL that can contribute more.

You say drafting back ups and I say adding quality rushers as part of a rotation to keep players fresh.
But you have harold. He isn't a quality rushman. I'm all for a starting DE in the 1st or 2nd but not a nickel rusher only

I was talking about LBs. Also those teams get depth on the edge in mid rou d's and FA. They draft starters in the 1st 2 rounds.

Get me a starter in the 1st round. Jerry has said for years. 1st round players are starters. BPA that can contribute day 1.

So then by that notion Harold be a starter since he would be drafted in round one and Lawrence would be a back up because he was drafted in round two. That makes zero sense. We need a rotation of rushers to keep fresh legs on the field. Right now we have potential in one player in Lawrence and need to add more.

He has said that is the the goal for 1-3 and 4 is an eventual starter.

Hitch also has played all spots and due to Lee, Durant and the occasional Carter being sidelined he was forced into action and has been stellar. You can't expect that result all the time. Striker can be an impact player as a WLB which is his natural position. I wouldn't count on Lee and Durant being fully healthy and who is to say McClain comes back. If anything Lee could use a smaller snap count with his injury history.

For someone who values rounds 1-3 he's traded a couple of those away in recent memory to move up.

Makes sense if you think the value of the one player you are trading up for is more than the combination of picks.

Hence I might be willing to trade Orchard if he proves to be real deal at Senior Bowl and in workouts.

Normally, I'd agree with you..but it worked for the Seahawks with Bruce Irvin.

Bruce irvin? That guy is a bust. 32 tackles and 5.5 sacks this year. Sorry but I pass on that. Now look at their other LBs. K Wright and Wagner are better players and not drafted 1st round.

Sorry but I don't draft a player hoping my starter gets hurt. J think a player like dawson can be had later and is just as good if not better than Striker. Maybe it's just the fact I'm not a big fan of striker.

No that means harold isn't even a 1st round player. Your reaching to feel a need. Lawerence will be the starter next year. We can find a rotation guy later. I'm fine with Harold in the 3rd which I think he belongs. That's where back up rotation guys belong. We need to get a day knone starter at the strong side to pair Lawerence with.

Just not a fan of your 1st 2 picks and j think they are reaches and you will be leaving better players.

Seriously......instead of taking a guy who gets 15 sacks in 3 years just be happy with Mincey.

The pass rushers they get mid rounds and off the street are far better.

I have my eye on him too. Gut feeling says he may be taken before we hit the clock and may need to move up to grab him.

Right Selvie last year and Mincey this year is just as good now. One can debate the future but I don't draft 1st round on potential starter. I draft 1st round players that can start. I look for nfl ready. Dallas has too the past few years which is why they are exceeding. They haven't reached on players early any more. That's why they have taken BPA. Nor a 3rd round DE in the 1st just so they can have rotational depth. That's what the eagles do. See Marcus Smith last year.

That's fair, we can agree to disagree.

If he performs like i think he would at the senior bowl and combine u think he will be out of reach to trade up for. He's my #1 DE in the draft

Hard to say but I can see NY drafting him. They love those pass rushers.

Yeah and they will let JPP walk. He has said no home town discount and wants to get paid. They may franchise him though.
NYG needs more help elsewhere. They have no LBs and their secondary is suspect. DT too.
They have alot of needs.

If you can spend your 1 and 2 on Mo when we aren't anywhere close to one player away you can certainly do the same now. If he is who I think he might be I have no problem with that. The last time the PAC 10/12 saw an edge rusher like this we passed on him for Newman.
