Youve been on record saying you dont want us to select a guard at 19 (besides Nelson), but would be ok with another corner?
General fans always want CB's and WR's in the draft. Doesn't matter that our starters look to be set at CB or that the talent at WR in the 1st is questionable or that we desperately need a NT. Or that Tyron is questionable w/ back issues.

I’m not putting Chido at safety until I know if Byron can actually play corner at a high level, which we don’t.

Lewis lacks height and speed outside but has the quickness and instincts to be very good in the slot
Byron is faster and taller, he should be competing with Brown for rcb starting in camp

Lewis is just better, much better..

Awuzie, Lewis and Brown.

I am all for an open competition in camp, but I don't think anyone can unseat those three. Jones is a dark horse, but thus far has done zilch to show he should be a starting corner in this league. Make him a sub package TE cover specialist and move on when his deal is up.

Gotta love how some folks think starting on the outside is some extra special shiny badge of honor. I want my quickest and agile cover corner in the slot in those passing situations. In today's NFL, the slot position is where offensive's do a lot of damage; many team's #1 receiver works out of the slot to exploit secondaries because they can operate in space instead of the sideline working as an extra defender on the outside.

Most you an I think Stephen Jones have made comments about JD moving to slot for Byron Jones?
1) JD (Lewis) is CB1 for DAL as I type, so he doesn't need to move for anybody.
2) BJ has to show he can perform well at CB, then worry about beating out AB...not a gimme.
3) Chido has shown to be a pretty good at LCB, however if DAL moves a CB to slot...Chido should be th guy considering he played a high rate of college snaps there.

Must be agenda or lazy research cause JD does not play slot, but Chido does. So, why do ppl keep automatically trying label JD as a nickel?
RCB-JD
LCB-Chido
NCB-Woods, AB, BJ, Duke

W/ Chido's excellent quickness and instincts, he'd be the perfect one to move to the slot if needed. However, both Brown and Woods played well in the slot last season, so I don't see why our two starting outside CB's need to be moved.

Agreed, I believe he's our best corner, way more skilled than Chido
I think we may have 4 pretty solid cb’s
Lewis I think is the best at this point and I love his run support
Hard to really judge chido but I like what we did get to see
Can’t have too many good CB

This is where I’m leaning as well. Have him fill in if any of the corners get hurt. Brown failed on the outside but I like him in the slot

Lewis is our best corner, and by far our best outside corner. Jones has been subpar. Not as bad as some say, but not near as good as some are claiming.

Lewis slid in the draft due to height and some off field issues. We were extremely lucky to get him. Just naming him a slot corner means you aren't paying attention.
unfortunately ive been a Michigan fan for a long time and watched Lewis, i thought he was the best pick Dallas had and almost made me forget Taco in the first

it isnt necessarily a slight on Lewis that he play inside
Scandrick was the fastest cb on the team and his quickness was one reason he plays/ed made him better slot
he was the best corner but didnt play outside
i love Lewis doesnt matter to me where people think i get my opinion from hes going to be very very good and would start in Scandricks place

Joe Haden 5-11
Brandon Flowers 5-9
Brent Grimes 5-10
Jason Verrett 5-10
Logan Ryan 5-11
TNew 5-10
Jonathon Joseph 5-11
Janorice Jenkins 5-10

Funny thing is that the best cover corners are mostly 6 and under.
being shorter when a taller guy gets by you (and you dont have great speed)you are beat if the ball is in front as you know
if you dont have the speed to stay on the guy you have to be physical enough or play off etc plus having a very good safety over the top doesnt hurt
i have no problems with Jourdan i just think he would thrive around the slot and Byron would compete with Brown outside
just my opinion

You said he lacked height and speed for the outside. How is that not a slight?

And when did his lack of height show last year? Minus against 6’7 jimmy graham lol
