I think we may have 4 pretty solid cb’s
Lewis I think is the best at this point and I love his run support
Hard to really judge chido but I like what we did get to see
Can’t have too many good CB

Agreed

I'm not convinced that Jones would start over Brown. People sheepled this idea that Jones just had to be a CB. I don't think he has the extreme lateral agility to mirror receivers.

I'm not convinced Jones plays over Brown either, whether in the slot, or wide. Maybe, maybe not. I was just starting from their premise, and saying he *doesn't* start over Lewis.

I've been saying that Jones most likely keeps doing what he's been doing - he's a man cover TE specialist. He's really pretty good at that. For other roles, we've got players who have been playing better.

Other than that, he's depth at S and CB.

I'm sure they'll give him a chance to compete, especially with the new secondary coach coming in. But the ties are going to the younger guys anyway.

Best thing to do with him is to see if another team wants him enough to exercise the 5th year option on him. Then he'd have pretty good trade value. If we can't get there, we're probably better off just keeping him as a specialist, and getting the comp pick out of him when he leaves. He has value. But not so much for us.

Jones, Awuzie, Lewis, Brown...cant get much better than that

Draft Derwin and sign Earl Thomas and welcome to the Superbowl
Derwin James will not be there at #19 despite what some mock drafts say and it'll most likely take that #19 to land Earl Thomas if the Seahawks are even considering dealing him. Stop with all this fantasy stuff.

I'll go with OP:

Jones
Awuzie
Lewis

I get what your saying, but Bryon should have never been moved to safety. He was moved to safety out of necessity bc he was athletic enough to play the position, but he was never physical enough as evident by his play last year.

Byron was taken to be an over the top FS. Size, length, speed, leaping ability. Even had experience at S. The measurables to be the guy to run the field and challenge WRs at high pointing the ball.

If he had the knack at that, his minimal physicality would be unfortunate but something you'd live with without problem. But he doesn't have that knack. No knack for zone over the top. I feel like I've only ever seen him cover the field and challenge a WR once. Heath is just better in deep zone than Byron is. I wouldn't be surprised if Woods is too.

Jones is a good corner, a pro bowl corner.....he' just not a very good safety

So, if Patrick Peterson, Marcus Peters, Xavier Rhodes, and Josh Norman all made the pro bowl for the NFC, which one are you taking off the squad and replacing with Byron Jones?

He’s not a pro bowl corner if he’s inferior to the players that make the pro bowl.

I liked him better at CB
Seemed a more natural fit
Pro bowl might be just a bit of an exaggeration lol

Youve been on record saying you dont want us to select a guard at 19 (besides Nelson), but would be ok with another corner?

One, if Ward slid to 19, that would be clear BPA. You mentioned Nelson. When you've seen me say that the only OG I would take at 19 is Nelson, why is that? Because at that point, he'd be the clear BPA IMO. Same with Ward, who is viewed by many as a Top 10 guy. I am not taking any CB at 19. I would only take Ward at 19 as I think he's the clear best CB in the draft.

And in my fantasy, it's not that I am taking a CB at 19. It's that I am taking a CB at 19 and then trading away Jones in a package to get Thomas. Total pie in the sky thinking.

General fans always want CB's and WR's in the draft. Doesn't matter that our starters look to be set at CB or that the talent at WR in the 1st is questionable or that we desperately need a NT. Or that Tyron is questionable w/ back issues.

It has nothing to do with that.

being shorter when a taller guy gets by you (and you dont have great speed)you are beat if the ball is in front as you know
if you dont have the speed to stay on the guy you have to be physical enough or play off etc plus having a very good safety over the top doesnt hurt
i have no problems with Jourdan i just think he would thrive around the slot and Byron would compete with Brown outside
just my opinion
Lewis has extra long arms, which actually makes him the same height as CB's an inch or two taller.

Woods played excellent in the slot last season. Why not leave Woods/Brown in the slot where they thrived?

I'll be honest, I was touting Jones in the slot a while back but going back and watching the DBs again, Brown does a darn good job covering those annoyingly quick slot types.
He has nice sudden quickness to handle those types. I think he's my slot guy.

Brown had some hiccups his sophomore year, which is the norm. By the end of the season, he was playing well again. Jones most likely lacks the suddenness to thrive in the slot.

Jones may be a DB version of Crawford.
A guy who can play solid at a couple of spots
but not a master of either spot.
He has value, just not enough to justify
a first round pick.

Brown struggled early but as someone mentioned after he got benched he played better
watching highlights of other players i would notice times Brown showed up making big plays
i think hes a great value starting as a 6th rounder, he just has to keep getting better with his hands and be consistent
