I think you could get away with the trifecta of for Gasol if you have alot of faith in Browns ability to D on the perimeter. His defensive game was more advanced then his offense so that may be workable. Its also possible you may be able to make financials add up subbing Smart with Rozier. That would be optimal. I would even add another pick. That wouldnt be a terrible haul. One of the best contracts in the NBA, and expiring deal in Bradley, a decent 3rd guard prospect and 2 firsts for Gasol

Yeah, if they had to give up 2 of the 3, I think it would be Crowder for sure since Hayward kinda makes his shooting expendable, and maybe Bradley since Brown can man the 2. I think they should keep Smart as the backup PG/SG.

C: Gasol
PF: Horford
SF: Hayward
SG: Brown
PG: Thomas
Backup PG/SG: Smart
Backup SF/PF: Tatum

Tatum can get a solid 20-25 minutes per spelling Hayward at the 3 and playing the 4 when they go small. He can develop into the future 4 and be insurance if Hayward opt out after year 3

Dubs signed Swaggy P to a one-year deal; they could be even deeper than they were last season. Fingers-crossed they don't resign Pachulia whom has no business on an NBA court.
Be interesting to see what kind of role they carve for him. He seemed to put a real effort into playing more team centric and sound ball last year. Maybe all those things Kobe told him to do he repeated to himself in his own voice and started to listen to himself

I agree, just given everything, now would be a bad time to deal him.
I dont even think you start to think about it until he is in middle of contract 2, and thats if you havent been able to put a team around him and need to start over

My gut is that they give him the role that he likely wants....instant offense off the bench with a license to shoot, especially when subbing for Klay or even Draymond.

He is always been one of those guys that any given moment can go nuts. He has been a guy at his worst can shoot a team out of a game, but I dont see that being an issue at GS

Yeah, on a talent deficient/young team like the Lakers the past few years, he probably was given too much rope and maybe took it on himself to try to shoulder a lot of the scoring.

celtic fan in mass so here's my 2 cents.

i'm good if they trade crowder and bradley. hold on to smart.

crowder shrinks in the playoffs and bradley gets banged up a lot more than you'd like to see. if they aren't floored by an offer for smart, then you keep smart. smart is bigger, younger and cheaper than bradley.

a little worried about the offense that the celtics will lose by parting with bradley, but getting hayward does a lot to make up for that. bradley is not even close to the superstar you'll need so that cap hit will have to go to either him or smart--and i pick smart.

if they part ways with bradley AND smart, then i'll be a little disappointed because we lose our 2 best perimeter defenders in the same offseason. but it is what it is and i want to see more of rozier anyway.

Good to have another C's fan on board

Trading Crowder is where I would go as well. I could live with Bradley being delt as well if they think Brown is ready for starter minutes. Brown's defense was always more NBA ready then his offense, although at this stage in his career would still represent a downgrade. 2018/2019 should be his breakout year. But Brown may there right now to be a decent 2 way. With Hayward coming in, and even the more advanced (than Browns) offense game Tatum gives them, they may not be hurting to replace Bradley's scoring.

Smart is also a very competent backup for IT. And that has to be in the back of your head when you are running with a 5'9 scoring PG. Dont think Rozier is ready to take the over if needed right now.

Im hearing a sign and trade with Crowder is likely. Speculation is it could anything from Exum to Hood to even Derrick Favors ( who would require another salary)

I thought Boston was supposed to shedding contracts after acquiring Hayward, not taking on contracts. I'm confused by the money of the whole thing. I was reading that Utah might have to add a player in exchange for Crowder since Boston can technically get Hayward for nothing. So I don't understand why they'd be forced to do a sign-and-trade anyway, unless Utah really wants Crowder.

now i'm hearing that they may be shopping rozier too. and that makes me sad.

i don't know if he can handle the ball like boston would need him to but we have a coach who has the ability to get creative. and i agree that smart was definitely improving that part of his game too. there is a lot to like about smart.

what i like about rozier is the energy and athleticism he brings. i really like the upside. but if they let him go too then........ehh. "in danny we trust"

what's the next big player sweepstakes anyway?? possibly giannis or anthony davis??

Davis is a beast. I hope New Orleans doesn't waste the duo of Davis and Cousins. That's a nasty big man duo you don't see often. Would be good for the NBA if they succeeded.

Hood and Exum are on rookie scale deals, so one for Crowder should get them enough for a max

I think Davis is a couple years away from NO possibly moving him. The trio Davis, Cousins, Holiday needs to be a proven failure before they consider it.

Giannis is a 2 years away from being a guy that might be dangled. Alot depends in Parkers health. If Parker can string together a couple near complete season, they should be winning and Giannis should be happy. If not 2 or 3 years down the line you may hear of him wanting out
