This is funny to me. I kinda look at it differently. I think fans better wake up and figure out that Stephen is the future of this Franchise. It will not be too long before Jerry is no longer running this club and Stephen is the next owner and possible GM. This is how the Cowboys are going to do business going forward. Get used to it.

If they keep doing business this way. they will keep losing. you pay your best players in their prime. if not, more times than not, you will lose.

But I say if Dez wants to miss regular season games and lose money over this then let him. I am a HUGE Dez fan; I love his passion, his love for the game and his willingness to win, but I would hate to see Jerruh or Stephen cave because of some empty threats.

I think we have enough WR talent (I know no one is going to match what Dez can bring) and our O-line is good enough that Romo can find an open receiver. I hate when players try to bully their way into a contract and my response as the FO would be, "okay, go ahead and miss however many games you want bro. You're only going to lose money out of your own pocket and this team will still be successful without you." No one person is better or more important than the team, period.

Maybe that's true, maybe it's not. Paying players the way we have in the past has certainly not produced the kind of results most fans want to see. Overpaying players, IMO, is not what successful teams do. I think the numbers are what they are and it's probably not going to change a great deal. Dez will either come to play or he won't. Either way, the Cowboys aren't that team anylonger. At least from all indications I've seen recently.

I tried to tell folks this was going to end bad if the cowboys force Dez to play on this franchise tag. and all i was told on here is how much Dez loves football. and how playing under the franchise tag won't affect him. what planet do some of you live on? i knew this was going to be a big problem going into this season. pay Dez his money. get this deal done now before the season get's ruined before it starts. i have post on here before that Jerry and his son are playing with fire.

You also said that there was no chance Henderson would lower Hardy's suspension.

The point is, until it happens we don't know, so you probably shouldn't be doing an "I told you so" before anything actually happens.

BTW, I've been wrong before too, plenty of times... so I'm not pointing fingers here.

If Dez missed games because he's on the franchise tag, he's the dumbest human ever to wear an NFL uniform.

Has any other player ever done this? None come to my mind. Dez makes it as though he's the first and only player to have ever been tagged.

That was awesome.

Why were they filming next the the street?

The guy in the white shirt was smart enough not to confront the heckler but to engage him in conversation.

Those T.O. years, I believe Ed Werder lived at Valley Ranch

Strange threat

"I will throw away millions because I want a few more millions."

Every 750k he misses in 2015 becomes almost 1m lost in 2016. His 2016 franchise tag number is based off of his final 2015 number. The lower the number in 2015 the lower the number in 2016. I believe the minimum would be the WR Franchise number again or 12.8m.

We don't have WR talent without Dez. T-Will isn't gonna win many battles with #1 CB's and the middle won't be spread out for Cole to get free.

Who was the great running back and the elite receiver for New England last year when they won the Super Bowl?
Give me Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, and i will take my chances. Romo and Garrett are not Brady and Belichick.

Drink a cup of perspective. Dallas is exercising a right that every other team in the NFL exercises. Lots and lots of players actually sign their franchise tags and play football and get paid a TON of money.

The team wins. And the player wins.

Playing with fire? Nah. If Dez is hell bent on turning the franchise tag into some kind of an insult-- then he's only hurting himself. What other industry can you think of where an employer says that I want to pay the average of the top 5 performers in your role-- and it's an insult?

I think Dez wants that big check NOW because he needs it now. It's a long way to September 14th if you're living on credit cards.

Word among local media is that he's broke right now.

That is a good point. It would be hard to turn down 20M up front and instead wait until September and get 700K per week. It would be easy for guys that have saved up millions, but as you said, most people believe that he is low on money. He might have assets like Cars and Jewelry, but cash is likely the problem.

Well-- somebody leaked the original report. The question is who?

It's the old "unnamed sources" thing that "reporters" use nowadays, so we'll never know who the source was or even if one truly existed. It's and easy way for the mediots to put all kinds of crap out there for clicks without having to take the blame for stuff that doesn't pan out.
