That is a good point. It would be hard to turn down 20M up front and instead wait until September and get 700K per week. It would be easy for guys that have saved up millions, but as you said, most people believe that he is low on money. He might have assets like Cars and Jewelry, but cash is likely the problem.

Sorry but 20M up front will not get it done. has to be a more than that.

There is no comparison between guys suspended and signed very cheap or still under contract, and a guy refusing to play under the terms of the CBA
I suspect this is coming from his agent and not dez
I figure it's a last ditch effort by his agent because I seriously doubt dez is going to ho till October or November to get a pay check
And coming in and dogging it will hurt his future
I also do t think dez would do that
I think that's an empty threat from his agent

I think more and more....I am becoming convinced....that Dez will NOT play for the franchise tag!

It just amazes me that the two camps simply cannot come to an agreement?

It just amazes me that you can't see that Dez wants/needs megatron money and the Dallas FO sees WR's as top 5 money. This is all about
money and Dallas holds all the cards. They are not going to give out Megatron deals anymore.

Strange threat

"I will throw away millions because I want a few more millions."

Every 750k he misses in 2015 becomes almost 1m lost in 2016. His 2016 franchise tag number is based off of his final 2015 number. The lower the number in 2015 the lower the number in 2016. I believe the minimum would be the WR Franchise number again or 12.8m.

Great point.

They are required to give him 20% more next season. If one game is 750K then a 20% increase puts that at 900K.

He gets paid 1/17th of the Tag per week. If he missed 4 weeks, then that is 3M plus 20% that he would lose next season which is another 600K. If he missed 8 games that would be 6M plus 1.2M for next season.

Who was the last star WR to win a Super Bowl? I can't think of one recently.

The problem with that statement that not a lot of people realize is that the QB and DEFENSE on those teams was superb. We only have the former not the latter

I have not seen this substantiated anywhere and reference a story from 2010 as proof. Silly.

We don't have WR talent without Dez. T-Will isn't gonna win many battles with #1 CB's and the middle won't be spread out for Cole to get free.

Does that really matter when he really has no choice other than forfeiting 750K per week and still being in the same position next year?

Sorry, but either he plays for the deal the FO has on the table or he plays for 12.4M which is less than 20M. If he decides not to play, so
what, I smell another Laurant Robinson being hired about 10 days before the 1st game against the Gints.

Wrong again. it's all about the guaranteed money. why you don't get that is beyond me.

I get that and the comment was directed at both camps. Dez' camp should not be demanding Megatron numbers.

I don't see it either. I mean, if you look at it realistically, at least what I see as realistic, the Megatron deal was a bad deal. It would be a bad deal for any club because the long term ramification of that kind of contract are bad. We've seen it play out right before us with Detroit. They have lost a lot of pretty good football players that they could have used. Contracts are going to escalate over time but you have to be able to manage them. I understand both sides. Dez needs to maximize on this because it's likely to be his best opportunity to do so. The team needs to be able to manage the cap so I get it.

His biggest risk is not signing the contract they offer him.

He doesn't have to sign what the team offers if it's not what his market value is. There will be plenty of teams foaming out the mouth to give Dez that deal he desires if he hits the open market next year.

Wrong again. His guarantee is on the table at 12.4M and that is all he is guaranteed right now. It's take it or leave it time.
