Well by average per year he is. And his money is as close you can get to guaranteed giving his age and how we use him as a bank account.

But yeah the deal is team friendly. And he'll get another big deal before it is all said and done.

More players should bet on themselves like TSmith did if they want to stay with one team.

He gave a discount but he will also see most of his contract.

If Dez took the 10/114 deal with 22m guaranteed he would be a Cowboy and a rich one for a long time.

He wouldn't be the highest paid WR but how long does that title even last.

Dallas should take some of the money they offered DT Vernon Littlefield and give it to Dez.

The last offer was for 5/71m and 41m guaranteed but he wanted Gerald McCoy or JJ Watt money.

Of course they haven't seen the video of him doing coke off a bunch of strippers bodies.

- this is from the HBO show Ballers with the Rock. Dallas actually has a GM that is negotiating deals and isn't one of the Jones boys. I can't believe the NFL has allowed them to use the real team names and logos.

For a minute there I thought I had temporarily transported into an alternate universe, until I saw the bottom part. I might have to check that out.

I haven't seen anyone talking about it. It isn't great but it's entertaining. It stars the Rock as a retired star trying to adjust to life after football by becoming a financial adviser to a bunch of current players. They use a mixture of real players and fake ones like the DAL DT Littlefield. Denzel's kid plays a WR for the Dolphins.

Lots of fancy cars, fancy women, fighting and football.

That does sound entertaining at least. And it seems like the NFL isn't exactly thrilled about some of the things they are doing on the show. All the more reason to check it out.

Am OK with Dez playing under the tag. Nobodies is suffering here.
If that happens, then there will be another negotiation drag out next off season.
But Dez plays.

Kinda wish Dez felt that way towards the Cowboys after all they have done to give him every chance to succeed. Actually I'm sure that he does. But each player is different. Can't expect everyone to accept team-friendly deals.

Dez is probably under pressure from the NFLPA and his agent not to sign too "team friendly" a deal. If Dez sets the market too low, it could hurt any negotiation leverage of Thomas, Green, Jones, etc. Not that I care about their contracts, but that is likely the reality of it.

I don't care about Dallas' side of this
I don't care about Dez' side of this
I DO care about the marriage being stable going forward...
...get it done, I have enough gray hair

"Playmakers" was definitely mild compared to "Ballers", and they didn't use real teams and logos.

I still find it funny that people didn't think this was going to be difficult...

I think that this deal gets done at the last minute. I think it's essentially completed already but they're waiting until the last minute so as not to give a template to other teams like Denver for how to structure their own deals.

But I believe the long-term deal is announced before the deadline.
