NCAA Tournament Thread - March Madness

I did watch Colorado vs. UNLV last night in a good game. Colorado, when they were not worn down looked like a terror on defense. I don't think they have the depth to keep it up throughout the tourney and they turn the ball over too much on offense, but that's the type of defense that can go far in the tourney.

Couldn't figure out what the UNLV coach (Rice) was doing. He waited forever to press and trap Colorado to get back in the game and it worked amazingly well. Had he done it at say 15 minute mark instead of 7 minute mark, they may have won.

YR

UNLV has played in the Pitt in Albuquerque a few times as they are now part of the MWC. They have lost a couple of games here because the team was not prepared to play at high altitude. I suspect that he has learned a little something and was saving his guys till the last minute. It's very difficult to play at the Pitt because of the conditions and you must understand how to coach in altitude or you will run yourself out of the game by the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately for UNLV, they got Colorado who plays in Boulder and is also above 5 thousand feet elevation. UNLV, IMO, is the much better team then Colorado having seen both of these teams play in person. Unfortunately for UNLV, I think they got caught in a situation where the venue favored Colorado greatly.

UNC-Asheville got absolutely jobbed. There's no way you blow that call. Easiest out of bounds call you'll see as a basketball official.

Oh well. NCAA can't have a 16 beat a 1. Too much money involved.

This tournament is starting to look like the distant cousin of the BCS.
:laugh2:
I wouldn't go that far, cas.
No tourney is known for more upsets than this one.

C'mon Missouri, I had u in the finals. :bang2: Not over yet tho
I had them in the Final 4 in one pool.
Talk about an early bracket buster....yikes.

Yea, I had them in the finals 4 myself. It's a drag because I actually had Florida over Missouri and changed it. Oh well, that's the way it goes.

Wow.

Wonder if anyone in the US has a bracket anymore.

:laugh2:

Yep. The Mayans were right. The world definitely will end this year. No doubt, after watching the upsets so far.

How many people had both Duke and Mizzou in the Final Four? :laugh2:

I don't do the brackets thing so I'm loving the upsets today because I think that it not being always predictable with the Big Boy, higher seeds winning makes March Madness more exciting

Were the Mayans predicting that the world would end this year or just everyone's brackets?

They weren't predicting anything.

They just stopped counting.
