Out of curiosity. It is said that Zimmerman had friends on the police force. He was a neighborhood watchman. Does anyone know if he tried to get on the police force and if so why he did not?

He wanted to be a Cop. I'm not sure if he actually tried to go through the process of getting able to be a cop and got rejected or not. But the rumor is that he wanted to be a Police Officer

You've clearly never been racially profiled. Half of the battle is that you can't prove it. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

If I had gone to the station and said that officer that stopped me had racially profiled me, how would you suggest I prove it to them?

I have been profiled as a long hair hippy. Does that mean everytime I got pulled over or was question by a cop that the reason was my long hair?

Thing is with race it is played at the drop of a hat, it is like crying wolf do it enough and people get sick of hearing about it when it is not always the case.

Hollering racial profiling does not make it so.

I never imagined you, Dooms, as a long-haired hippy. People would never imagine me growing up as somewhat of a redneck nowadays either. But once upon a time I was pretty darn country.

Again, that has nothing to do with what I'm saying. I didn't say anything about Trayvon ALWAYS being profiled, and I didn't say that I was have alaways been profiled.

Also, I'm not "hollering" anything. Women have cried rape, that doesn't mean women haven't been raped and it doesn't mean you take it less seriously when a woman reports it or dismiss it without having to physically be there when it happens.

You're still not really answering my question. You wanted me to prove to you he was profiled. You refuse to accept the probability of it in this case without proof.

How would I have proved to the police that I was profiled? There's no way and you're making an impossible request to get out of accepting that there is a probability/possibility that Zimmerman profiled Trayvon.

It was the 70's I was cool once. :laugh2:

Now I never considered myself a hippy but that is how some would describe me and my friends back in those days.

I have said it "may" or it "may not" have been I don't say it was or not but you jumping up and claiming it is. But you don't know. You take what happened to you and then use it as some be all on all other incidents.

You call it an impossible request yet have no problem stating it as if it were a fact. Was it a FACT? you do not know nor do I but you are quick to assume it was.

I said he was probably profiled, and that if he hadn't been, Zimmerman never has a reason to approach him, thus sparing them both all this heartache.

I have stated nothing as fact other than my personal experiences, and I didn't apply my personal experiences to anyone other than myself. I'm not sure where you're getting that from at all.

You still won't acknowledge that your request for proof of profiling is an impossible one, correct?

He at least profiled him as someone on drugs when he had no clue if that was actually the case. We know that much. Zimmerman was speculating, because he felt suspicious about Trayvon.

I'm sure profiling takes place by the police I don't consider civilians as police.

I think individual people have their own personal bias based on life experience. Did Zimmerman call 911 because he was black or because he was an unknown teenager going into a gated community?

As a neighborhood watch program I'm sure Zimmerman would not have called police had he known who the person was. We also know he called 911 many times before were all of them black?

One of the first things he says is: This guy looks like he’s up to no good or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around looking about.

From Zimmerman's own mouth, he specifically says that what made him suspicious is that Trayvon was walking around in the rain and looking about.

Later on he mentions that Trayvon has his hands in his waist band (he probably just had them in the pockets that most hoodies have, we've already confirmed there was nothing on his waist band to reach for since he wasn't armed) and later that he has something in his hands (which was either his cell phone, iced tea or candy).

So he's suspicious and may fear that Trayvon is armed. Why on earth would you ever approach an individual you believe to be a criminal, high on drugs and potentially armed?

That makes no sense to me.

Let's be clear. You won't accept that it's near impossible to prove racial profiling? If you won't concede that, then there's no point having this discussion any further really. You're answering everything but that.

You won't accept that it may not be the case. I think it is very possiable police profile. Zimmerman is not part of the police. Did he call just because Martin was black? I have said I don't know, do you know?

When I say he was probably profiled, that implies acceptance that it's possible he was not.

You still aren't answering my question, do you or do you not concede that it's nearly impossible to prove racial profiling?

No it is not impossible, if a police officer has a pattern of behavior it is very possible to see that he was racially profiling. When it comes to civilians I don't think it is racial profiling.

I think people react based on their own person bias. Could Zimmerman be that? Sure but considering there were many calls made in the past was there a pattern of him calling police on just blacks?

You want to throw the race card out there fine have at it but at least back it up? Easy to make accusation much harder to back it up with fact.

I have never said it was or was not what I take offense to is it was thrown out there by the media and milked by those only trying to get into the spot light as if this was fact.

It is people jumping to conclusions but that seems to be nothing new

I decided to check back in to see if people have moderated their support for the attacker.

I just do not get it. The problem child has a history of smoking illegal substances, multiple school suspensions, violence and either stealing or trafficking stolen goods and people still think he is an angel.

A good lesson for other young hot heads is be careful who you attack, because you never know who is packing.

Meanwhile the race mongers are getting everyone fired up and now the TM supporters are rioting and stealing in his memory. Class all the way!

Is that for real? How do you "steal" in someones memory? :laugh2:

How will they defend this now? People sure don't want to talk about the ugliness outside this situation that is headlines everywhere.

Let's just focus on Zimmeran and how he messed up. Ignore all of the crazy stuff going on, just look here.
