What I've actually condemned are the police actions AFTER the confrontation.

I'm pretty solid in how I feel about the actual confrontation.

I don't believe the initial police investigation into the confrontation was handled properly. So the primary reason why I'll accept the findings of the state and/or FBI/DOJ is that time was taken to truly gather info.

I fully agree. I think Police have botched this from the get go. I would expect any person who has shot and killed someone should be brought in for questioning and as far as I know that did not happen.

Just as every person who has commented on it in the press or those seeking attention have the right to express their opinions.

The bottom line, as I have stated multiple times. If he stays in the car, the kid does not get shot, zimmerman does not get beat up and zimmerman would not be in hiding right now with bounties on his head.

Right or wrong, Zimmerman started the ball rolling and if he would have stayed in the car this would not have happened.

You can argue that point from here to eternity but it will not change things.
Agreed

Whether you started it or not you contributed in it. Two wrongs don't make a right.

this is no different then assigning some portion of blame to the girl in a short skirt.

hey, if she simply didn't demonstrate her rights to wear that short skirt, she probably wouldn't of drawn attention to herself, and never would of been raped.

A news report of him being caught with burglary equipment, trying to punch his bus drivrr, and none of it is verifiable, and I suspect will all turn out to be false

Not likely. The jewelry and the screwdriver were mentioned in a police report. School officials thought the jewelry in his bag was so suspicious that they took photos and sent them to the local police. It's in the police report.

This stuff is hardly irrelevant. It paints a picture of a kid who was impulsive and who made poor decisions. "Model students" don't get suspended multiple times for drug possession, vandalizing school property, and for carrying a bag of women's jewelry.

I've already proven to you that racial profiling may have been in play, you don't have to accept it. In fact, I'm certain you won't.

May have? Sure "may" have it "may not" have. I have not said it was not I have asked those who jump to that conclusion to please prove it. Believe me if it was for the speculation of Race you would not see Jackson, Sharpton or the media even covering this. So there is a perception that is being thrown out but none have proved that was the case.

You ever have a 17 year old son or daughter?

no, 10 and 8, so I hope to get there.

I just see it as loaded language, not saying that is the intention.

I agree with everything but labeling a 17 year old as a child.
Having helped raise my little sister, a 17-yr old is a child, especially one who just recently turned 17. He wasn't a kid in the traditional sense, but he certainly wasn't a grown man.

We've got a couple of 17-yr olds on this board and no way you can compare the maturity level of them with the adults on this board. Their immaturity knows no bounds.

So I don't see why that offends you.

Whether someone has a 17 kid is immaterial to the debate IMO.

There are two ways to look at it.

If you want to go the legal way...than 18 is when one is labeled an adult expect for specific cases.

If he meant height and weight aka Size...then one could say he was the size of a full grown man and not a child.

I would imagine since he has been so hard core on the law and facts during this debate that the legal definition would apply and that he was not an Adult...but again there are specific cases where someone under 18 is tried as an adult.

What are you talking about? Do you think your posts on here are going to curb this pending race riot? Did I put the bounty? Am I chasing him down?

You really expect that someone is going to tell you race riots and bounties are good? This is a logical conversation, don't turn it into nonsense.

Why not? You are using your past experiences to justify your stance? Can't that user do the same?

Shall I just #########$$$$$$ &&&&&& forget it?

Uh...no the girl in the short dress did not follow or chase the male, and rape him.

In this case Zimmerman followed or chased the male and killed him after an altercation.

Not similar at all. One is the victim (girl getting raped) the other is a killer (guy shooting the boy).

offended? I said I agree with everything but that, I didn't really take offensive, I just find it loaded language.

when my girls are in their 50's they will still be my child, but it would be silly to refer to them in such a capacity.

Yes... in your scenario the girl is allowed to get raped for wearing a short dress and trayvon is allowed to get killed for walking through the neighborhood carrying a pack of skittles...I guess.

Seriously?

You've clearly never been racially profiled. Half of the battle is that you can't prove it. That doesn't mean it doesn't happen.

If I had gone to the station and said that officer that stopped me had racially profiled me, how would you suggest I prove it to them?

Believe me as a young man I had the police called on me because I had long hair and was tossing a football in a field behind some homes. Police showed up asked me and my friends what we were up to and we told him. No problem.
I think people act differently toward police and some unknown dude. If a cop questions me, I wouldn't be defensive but if some dude asked me what I'm doing here, I might get defensive and say **** off.
