Stats? Do you mean going to Cabo during the playoffs? Playing hide-n-go-seek with guys in the mountains of West Virginia for his bachelor party? Going Hollywood? I could continue...

oh those are stats now. Good to know!

How bout that cap backward - is that a stat too. That's about where I put that Cabo trip. He should have stayed at home and played checkers!

Actually, I am able to see the forest.

The truth is. The comparison of Mariota and Dak’s games is weak at best.

The gsmes and situations the QB’s during the game were very different.

I’m also able to think critically and call Dak out for the things he isn’t doing well and the areas of his game that hurts the team. Without making the completely asinine argument about removing his best plays to discredit anything he does positively.

Removing players best plays to evaluate them is one of the weakest and most idiotic arguments in all of sports.

The truth is, I have been critical of Dak many times and called him out when his plays was terrible.

But if you want to have an honest discussion about stats and removing certain plays because of YAC. The only fair way to do it, is present other QB’s stats minus YAC. Unless you do that. The argument is invalid.
I of course am not removing those 2 plays. I am acknowledging they are outliers. I also referenced Dak's season long ranking which of course includes those passes.

I am actually doing the opposite of removing 2 plays to judge Dak. I am asserting that DESPITE those 2 plays he played a rather poor game for the majority of the game. That is analyzing BEYOND 2 plays. You should try it.

Here's the thing the Romo haters NEVER bring up about that trip to Cabo on the bye week of the playoffs. First, Phillips told the team to get a way for a couple of days. Second, Witten was with Romo but THAT'S NEVER MENTIONED. All they say is Romo was in Cabo.
Well, Witten has been brought up to be honest. And, I've always thought it was a stupid angle to take however Romo said himself that's one thing he would do different.

You and your anti-Dakkers are the real whiners. Y'all live on here all day and night long, throwing your Dak insults and hatred, especially after y'all know very well Dak is going to be here for many years. Makes me wonder if y'all even have jobs, or do y'all live out of your mom's basement? Sheesh. I bet..yes. lol
I'm anti avg qb and if that means anti Dak bump it. Now what you gonna do? All the typical you live at your moms house talk isn't close to true so try again lazy. Also when trying to say someone is on here all day please look at yourself and your groupie crew and remember that when throwing rocks from your glass house. Lastly why don't you post your bank statements and housing situation so I can see how the Dak groupie leader is living since I'm living with my mom. I want to be inspired by you

Well.. Dak had 285 passing yards and 190 of it was YAC yards so you tell me.

The throw to Cooper for his 2nd TD was brilliant but those throws for Dak are few and far between.

We we're 28th in YAC yards before the last game. The Rams are #1.
Goff must really suck since his receivers are doing all the work

Actually what Romo has said is he would have stayed out of camera range while there.

... Remember Mariota and Monday nights game against the Texans.

Mariota went 22-23 with a perfect passer rating. And yet the Titans were not competitive. This tweet does a good job of explaining why his stats did not match the eye test.

This reminds me of Dak against the Commanders. He was awful essentially the entire game. And yet due to two passes his passer rating was stellar. Eye test > Stats in this case.

As a reminder Dak is 23rd in the NFL in QBR. Top 5? Brees, Mahomes, Rivers, Goff and Wilson in that order.

For added Dak context Joe Flacco and Ryan Fitzpatrick have been better. Fitzpatrick has been benched twice and there is talk Joe has been Wally Pipped. Meanwhile we wouldn't trade Dak for 2 first rounders and are backing up the Brinks truck. Future is bright!

So what? Aren't tired of being miserable. At least wait till we lose again before whining. I haven't even said Garrett sucks in a few days now and I hope I don't have to say it for a while.

Yeah, Cabo is overblown. But what is relevant to this discussion from a Romo standpoint is how good his stats looked in the 2014 playoff game dinking and dunking with TWill taking a short pass to the house and another 1 yard TD when we could have ran Murray in. He had great stats and the team only put up 21 points. What's often overlooked are the 3 horrible sacks he took and bobbled snap stalling drives and his decision to proceed with a deep pass on 4th and short instead of calling a timeout and getting a higher risk play.

But his stats were good and only 21 points.

So saying that, I agree with the OP. I just think it applies to all players and not just some of the players.

1st, yes. Plenty of fans here have said that.

Listen to yourself. One sentence you suggest "they helped us win" and the very next you claim "Those two plays did not mean Dak played well."

What the hell are you even talking about? Who gives a ****, he helped win us a game. The level that some of you haters dissect a specific play and/or stat is pathetic.
It should not be hard to differentiate making a winning play and playing poorly.

Posit for a moment a hypothetical where a wr has many drops, catches a ball and fumbles it away and then later catches the game winning touchdown. You'd say that player played poorly but made a play to help his team win. Right? That isn't hard to understand.

This group of people are using the strongest form of reverse psychology known to man. They are having a difficult time believing we actually "might" make the playoffs. Poor lil tink tinks.
We are leading a horrible division with 6 wins in 11 games. Who believes we can't make the playoffs?

Troy Aikman and several other Cowboys Greats said that was a very dumb thing to do, especially during the playoffs. Then Romo's response about how he wasn't worried about "perception" and how if he never played another football game again that he would have lived a great life, well, that said everything about Romo. What's your explanation for Romo, Witten, Austin and several others playing hide-n-go-seek among an "only men" Romo bachelor party alone in the mountains of West Virginia? That didn't tell you anything either?

Hey, we all know Dak still needs some work, however to not even be able to see that he is showing progress is simply agenda driven drivel.
there is none so blind as he who will not see.

In a 99 pass 3 game sample do you think Goff has 2 passes that account for almost 20% of his total yardage?

It’s an interesting point. QBR has always favored Dak, he was 3rd in the league in 2016 and even last year when most thought he regressed a lot he was still 4th in the league. But this year he has plummeted like a rock to 23rd. I don’t put a lot of stock into QBR (mainly because the formula isn’t public) but I would guess it has to do with the third down struggles in addition to even more dinking and dunking.

I disagree about Dak being horrible essentially the entire game. Sure he wasn't Brees level, but despite a slow start I thought he played well. As for those two passes for the big yards, first, it makes no sense to discard those, as if he didn't throw and complete those passes, second, every other QB gets credit for the yardage after the catch so why shouldn't Dak, and third, even if Cooper hadn't gained the yardage after the catch it was still a first down and the drive would have continued, likely with Dak throwing for more yardage.
I have been one of Daks biggest critics and it's been tough since I really like the person he is. I have to admit that I did see some growth in him this last game. Not on the 2 TD plays with Cooper, but after re-watching the game, he beat the skins blitz on several occasions with his arm which showed improvement in reading the defense and making the throws. The Skin D is usually pretty effective with blitzing and Dak usually falters with pressure but not last week. Hope to see some consistency.

Goff is overrated and is more of a system QB which gives me hope for Dak since we are in our Jeff Fisher stage but even though Goff is a system QB he still has some arm talent vs Dak not having much.

Goff was on a 1 way street headed to bustville and the Rams saved his career by hiring the right coach.

Dak and Garrett together will just continue to bring mediocre at best results in the pass game.
