I'm not sure I wouldn't lower my rankings for the Vikings with the addition of Favre.

Man, I love all the Eagles disrepect considering they tossed us aside like a used kleenex to the tune of 44-6 to end our season.

FOURTY FOUR to SIX.

And someone is going to peddle how we are better than the team we lost our last game to by forty points? REALLY?

Man, there are fans, and there are fanatics.

Minnesota + anyone who doesn't suck at QB = top of NFC. Good defense, awesome running back, and a decent QB? I think they vaulted over us.

This team has proved NOTHING. Until they do, we have no business putting them above teams that managed to get to the playoffs last year.

P.S. Giants are down, badly, and they stapled themselves to that clown of a QB. I don't mind anyone putting us above them...

So did they not prove anything in 2007?

I don't see how you can put the Cowboys in the top 3.... Let's be realistic here.

I agree. They'll have to earn that lofty opinion. While I realize the pre-season is basically extended practice, Oakland came to play, while the Cowboys simply showed up. OR, they are what they were.

For a team with a major letdown at the end of last year, they came out of the lockerroom without any feeling.

You got me..

No he didn't catch you ...while Glorydaysrback stated in his opening post ... :that he "guesses" that the easiest way would be to give the top 5 ..." the thread title asked for "ranking" ...not the top 5 ranking order. You could have included all 32 teams and been on topic!

This thread is hilarious...people bash me for having Dallas at 3, which #1 I do not agree with but can understand if some question it...then they go ahead and list teams like the Panthers, Falcons, and Saints ahead of us...hahahaha, jokers.:lmao:

That's what I'm asking Venger.
?? I think as others have indicated with their incredulity, the 2007 Cowboys proved nothing... which matches the feat of years both prior and subsequent. This team hasn't done anything to deserve the benefit of the doubt...

Favre will not make it thru the season. Brent will finally take a hit and won't come back. He has had no core training this offseason and is showing up older and in worse condition than he did last year with the Jets. The Vikings won't win for two reasons, they still will have QB problems and their coach is the biggest dummy in the NFL. Childress is a joke as a coach. One of the reasons FAvre came back was because of the vanilla West Coast offense Childress runs.

The Packers will win the North this year. It may be 9 and 7 but they will win it. They are younger, more talented in the secondary, WR, Te, and LB and at QB. The only thing Minny has over GB is Peterson and the Williams wall and the Williams brothers are older than dirt. Brent will finally go out for good this year but unlike the other retirements, it won't be on his terms....

(PS, I told my grandson today all his Brent Favre stuff goes in the garbage)

I think the top 3 teams in the NFC are in the east.

1) NYG
2) Dallas
3) Philly
4) Vikings
5) Falcons

Top 3 are basically a toss up but NYG are a solid #1 i think. Great oline, great defense, only thing questionable is their passing game. I would have Philly ahead of Dallas if Jim Johnson(RIP) was still around..they had a ferocious defense with him and always managed to squeek into the NFC champ game.

1/2 Dallas and Eagles

3. New Jersey

4. Atlanta

5. Minnesota

I had Philly as the best before the loss of JJ, Bradley, and their new TE. Still a good defense and good enough offense if McNabb can stay healthy.

Dallas next.

New Jersey is third and no higher since they are 1-4 against Dallas with Romo starting, lost their last two games against Philly, have no true 1 or 2 WR, and still have Eli under center.

Atlanta might fade away, but I've got a little bit of faith in Ryan and their running game.

Minnesota is at five because of their great running game and putrid passing game the past few years. If Favrererere can just drive the bus while AP pulls it, they'll do well.

Carolina? Good running game, but two of their defensive line starters are on IR. Not a good way to contain the opposing running game as we saw on Monday.

New Orleans? They gotta show me something on defense. Offense is there and Payton could make them a contender, but I won't hold my breath.

Green Bay. They could surprise me if Aaron Rodgers does better this season. They are probably the most hyped former 6-10 team this offseason.

Arizona? Absolute worst defense in the NFL that got hot at the right time. Warner still could get something going again and do something, but I don't expect anything more than a first round game and loss. Still, they make my #7 spot, if not #6.

who holds the money???

ain't gonna happen. Favre will pull a vintage FAvre in those games. He will be hyped out of his mind and play like he did the night Holmy came back to GB the 1st game. He won't make it thru the game.

Best team in the NFC is the Falcons. Rememeber they added Tony Gonzelez to their team. Their offense is going to be as balanced as you can get. Second would be the Vikings in my opinion, then Philly and then us. My non bias opinion. The Cards take a step back this year.
