Technically the game was referred to as the "AFL-NFL World Championship" game until the leagues merged. Hence why they called it the "World Championship Game Trophy ". It wasnt re-named after Lombardi until after '71(I think?). That's going back a few years for me.

I don't like the 5 WR match-up much as I am no fan of CB Nat Jones and if he has to play more than a play or 2...well lets just say with the way Welker (N.E.)abused him it won't be pretty...

However if GB goes just 3 wide than I might be more at ease...if Henry is ready...

but this is how I see it GB is one of the few teams out there that is able to put enough points up to be very problematic for my boys...

as much as I think GB has a good Defense the Cowboys have not put up less than 24 points this season and I expect the Cowboys will get any where between 24 - 35 points...now can GB's Offense put more than that many points up on the Dallas D...I'm a homer so I'm gonna say no they can't but would I be suprised if they did...no I would not but I still don't expect them to... I wish both our teams a hard fought injury free game.. enjoy your stay here on the forum

You will find that alot of us Packer fans get rather tired of it also. Yeah Favre is a first ballot HOF,that's cool and all,but just shut up and announce the game. Especially Madden,we Packer fans have grown tired of that. Needless to say,the last Sunday night game,I muted the TV and turned on the radio.

There is a 40 YEAR waiting list to get packers season tickets and it was like that in the 80's and early 90's when the packers sucked. People have always registered their children when they are born so that someday they might get them. There are packers bars all over the country that cater to just packers fans and its been that way since way back. Our history goes back more than twice as far even though the city today only has barely 100k people we didn't have to wait till after segregation to start a franchise. We won the first two superbowls and nfl championship and have 12 nfl titles. We use cheerleaders from the local junior college and they wear high school outfits but no one is there for the cheer leaders. Everyone in the city/state lives and dies by the packers. People make pilgramages (who aren't necessarily packers fans) just to say they saw a game at Lambeau Field. We travel better than any other team (Steelers included) and EVERYONE shows up 3 hours before the game to "tailgate" which we invented. We are the owners of the franchise, not some publicity seeking billionaire. I could go on... but u will be able to see for yourselves if you can get tickets to Lambeau in January to watch ur Cowboys.

The Packers represent everything good and wholesome about football and America. When the Cowboys started CALLING THEMSELVES "America's team" they brought in everything that is bad about America and football. Greed merchandising more emphasis on the cheerleaders and flashy end zone celebrations than on the game, astro turf (you cant be americas team playing on Astro Turf). That is why TO is such a good fit. The packers just leap into the stands and share the moment with the fans.

You may sell more t-shirts and have flashy cheerleaders but no one outside of the texas area could care less about your team. Everyone loves the packers, we are like the Yankees of pro football except we aren't hated.

You go ahead and trademark "Americas Team" and keep CALLING yourselves that, the Packers will just go out and BE America's team. Texans must be really insecure about something that they have to constantly try to tell everyone how awesome they are. But no one really cares about what happens in Texas besides Texans.

And one more note, I think the old man will hold up just fine. Are you seriously trying to say that BRETT (greatest qb ever) FAVRE isn't durable enough!!! Ignorant!!! I would worry more about your Burlington WI native "Favre Lite" than us. I mean Favre is a fossil and carrying a no name team to 10-1 on his shoulders and has carried them with NO SUPPORT to respectable seasons every year except one since the superbowls we went to or since he stepped in to the lineup for that matter. What has Dallas been doing??? If u win this game its only because like 5 of our D starters are questionable for the game including our shut down corner. Our D is better our passing game is better despite lack of any "big name recievers" and our run game .... well no one is perfect. But this is a "must win for u" because we all know that there is no chance in hell the Cowboys will beat the Packers at Lambeau in January.
