I have seen people do worse things than that at a game. I don't care if he was one row back. The guy has a right to stand. If you go to a sporting event with THOUSANDS of people you have to expect that. And if you want to sit the whole time you should stay home. Sorry, that is just the way it is. Maybe you should stick to your church going events. I am sure you will find them much more enjoyable.

Fine, Ok. I'm sorry I didn't believe that a man who could see perfectly fine, decided to walk down 10 rows, to pick out TWO guys and try to start something with them for no reason. I'm sorry, that it made no sense to me that someone would just out of the blue decide to take a chance and get in a fight for no reason whatsoever.

Now I see it all clearly. It makes perfect sense to me.

I apologize to the respected member. :banghead:

I think it's ok to stand for a big play, or maybe a big defensive stop or offensive drive, after the 2 minute warning..It's ok when ever people want, just dont stay standing for the entire game or if everybody else is sitting have some respect for the guys behind you.

Looks like we got Mother Theresa here. NewsFlash...It's a football game..If you go to a football game you have to expect people to be standing.. This is not a classical concert. Perhaps he wants to stand and clap for his team when they do something good. He didn't say he was standing the whole game. In fact most people don't. They stand when soemthing exciting happens. And that is his right. He paid for a ticket and he is allowed to do that. If the guy behind him doesn't like he shouldn't have bought a ticket. To attend a sporting event and have the expectation that people won't stand is stupid. And if they had a medical condition that's even more reason why they should have stayed home and watch the game. How can you think this is NOT acceptable? How old are you?

Thanos I think it is time to work on those reading comprehension skills. I should have known better than to read your post when you open it with an insult, but I thought it may get better. Of course it didn't. He said he was standing while the Cowboys were on D, meaning the guy couldn't see any defensive series.

You did a great job of bolding that one sentence, really cudos to you. But perhaps you should have spent some time reading the one after it. Saying we all understand standing durring exciting plays or every now and then to cheer. But not for an entire series.

The not acceptable part was referring to heckling someone for asking you to sit down, not for standing...If only I had made that clear by writing it in my post...wait a minute, I did.

Dude Thanos...I don't know if you do not know how to read, or you do not know how to comprehend, or you just simply employ selective understanding. But I would suggest you seriously look in to having it fixed. Perhaps some classes at the Y?

See now they can have fun when Bronco fans show up they can send a bunch of text message the guy is standing up even when they are not

This rule will be wiped out in one preseason game due to the stupidity of the rule at a sporting event

Definately agree with that. I am usually conscious of what is going on around me. Big play happens..I stand..Action tones down..I sit. Simple as that.

My guess is that it isn't that simple. You get one text and that is that. You gt 12 texts about the same guy... you send someone. It really isn't that hard to make it work. I think you guys are either thinking way too much about this or way too little.

CHIEFS CLARIFY STANDING RULE
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 2, 2008, 7:30 p.m.

The Kansas City Chiefs would like to clarify that their rule against standing while watching games at Arrowhead Stadium is only a rule against excessive standing.

Tammy Fruits, the team’s vice president of sales and marketing, tells Fox 4 News in Kansas City that the team’s guidelines for fan behavior — which drew criticism for listing standing among the activities that “the stadium staff will proactively intervene” to stop — are not intended to stop fans from jumping up to cheer spontaneously.

“We want Arrowhead loud and proud like it’s always been,” Fruits said.

The team will, however, intervene when a fan’s excessive standing obstructs the view of other fans. Now if we can just get a clear definition of what constitutes “excessive” standing, Kansas City fans will know how much time they should expect to spend on their feet when they go to games, and how much time they should expect to spend on their butts.

Thank you!! The sky is not falling. It is the same for excessive cursing or excessive drinking (being disorderly).

you're still not making much since to me. I understand that you might just want to watch the performance, I guess. you could just take half a step over or something. it's really not that big of a deal.

but seriously, the more people interacting with whoever's on stage, the better the show is going to be, period.

that's the attitude I don't like

"this is how it's supposed to be, f what anyone else thinks"

still doesn't give people an excuse to act obnoxious at a concert, hell, 2 seats across from me, some dude was dancing and bobbing his head like he was at a rap concert

or when they start a mosh-pit and start banging into everyone, I don't want to frickin' mosh, so if you hit me, I'm going to get pissed and might throw a couple elbows, yeah, you might get psyched up there watching it...

Still a dumb rule, if your handicaped and cant stand have a worker go and tell the people that you're handicaped and if they dont sit down their jerks. These are the type of rules that are springing boards for more obscene rules. Pretty soon tall people are going to be banned from arenas because the midgets wont be able to see over top of them.........I know im rambling but i hope you get my point.

I am with theebs on this one. Stand and cheer your team. If I am sitting and the guy in front of me stands up, you know what I do...I stand up as well. Damn, people act like they can't stand up becuase its so much work. Loose some damn weight, get in shape and stand up and cheer your team on. If you want to sit down with an unobstructed view keep you butt at home.

Looks like there's a serious lack of respect...not surprising in this day and age.

If I'm standing and someone POLITELY asks me to sit.

I sit.

If there's a group in front that's standing....

I stand.

If someone asks me to sit when there are people in front of me standing, I'll simply point this out to the person asking me to stand.

It's not difficult. People seem to forget how to be considerate to those around them. Sporting evens are EXPENSIVE....no doubt. All of us seem to think that we're the only ones that paid that much for a ticket....or that we're the only ones that had to sacrifice something for a ticket. Because of that we feel we're ENTITLED to behave how we want.

All of us want a loud stadium. We want to cause the opposition to false-start, call time-outs, etc due to crowd noise. But if you give me the choice in having respectful, considerate fans or Eagle-type fans.

It's no contest at all.

what are you trying to say? dancing and bobbing your head isn't good at a concert?

obviously, you're either not musically talented or haven't played in front of more than 10 people. you don't like my attitude? that just proves my point. fan interaction gets the adrenaline pumping, which makes for a better show. in one of our songs, we have a musical break with just vocals. one of the most awesome feelings in the world is hearing the crowd singing along with our vocalist at that point. I'll sum it all up with this statement:

Going to a football game expecting everyone to stay seated is like going to an Iron Maiden concert expecting no one to mosh.

He was bigger and in better shape than me. His wife was perfectly healthy. They were about 35.

He left in the 3rd qtr. He was not a real fan.

You have keen powers of observation.

Were there distinguishing marks? Was she Nordic and he perhaps post-punk nouveau glam British?
I suspect this couple to be up to nefarious schemes with intenions that few here could barely fathom. Let me know if you remember anything else.
