NFLN: Lions get permission to speak with Garrett

since you got the last wrong, getting this wrong too doesn't surprise me.

getting what wrong

like you calling me an illiterate child?

it's ok, I know it's frustrating when you can't effectively get your point across that you have resort to mud-slinging instead

not in words you'd understand, son.

I've seen you decided to continued on this lame course

but at least you only waited one more year before you wanted Parcells gone

wow, the pompous attitudes

yet noone has explained to me why Garrett should be our HC

#1 he can't do any worse.

#2 I think he should get the shot.

#3 We wouldn't be putting the offense in a learning curve from the start.

#4 I can't stand wade. (maybe not that important to some but it's my list):D

those aren't very good reasons

Garrett can barely run an offense, how is he going to run a whole team? if he can't get one side of the field to buy into his philosophy, how is he going to get all 3 sides (O, D, STeams) to?

Okay, I'll help again.

Hostile;2539234 said:
I didn't say it justifies it. I still think the guy is our next Head Coach and I don't want to lose him. I'd rather fire Wade than let Garrett go to Detroit, and I'm not thinking Wade should be fired.
That doesn't necessarily mean right now.

I don't know who Noone is, but no one was talking about right now for Garrett at that time.

swing and a miss.

it's not about parcells. it's not about wade. it's about seeing a plan through.

correlation bro, correlation

I'm correlating you whining about Parcells after 3 years (it was more like 2 years), with you now telling me to stay the course with Garrett after 2 years

and I'm not even saying Garrett should leave

ok Hos

let's say Garrett only wants to be a HC next year, and Detroit still wants him

what do you do?

LOL

I knew that you couldn't simply acknowledge that you misread what I said and would need to create a hypothetical situation I wasn't even talking about.

I'll pass on answering the question. Not in the mood for a silly game. Thanks anyway for the invite.

i'll answer cause i'm here. i move up my timetable 1 year and not listen to the whiney fan.

i put my faith in garret and paid him millions. i see it through despite a rough year.

"Wade should go instead of Garrett, but I don't want Wade to go"

sounds like you're talking out of both sides of your mouth here, Hos

even CajunCowboy read your comment the SAME way

I'm not sure that Garrett can be the head coach of THIS team.

Romo, Owens and seemingly every other receiver -- all key figureheads on this team -- have already soured on him. You think it'd be better if Garrett was suddenly calling all the shots?

But understand this when I say that: That's not an indictment on Garrett. We have a bunch of lame, finger-pointing, won't-take-direction, can't-wait-to-get-the-coach-fired prima donnas. That's become absolutely clear from how this group handled Parcells and is now handling this coaching staff.

But this group of whiners' problems aside, naming Garrett their head coach would only be setting up Garrett for colossal failure. And frankly, he deserves better -- no matter if I think he's an average coordinator or not.

expressing disappointment is whining?

a "rough" year is an understatement, more like "pretty pathetic" year

If you say so. I mean with your reading ability on full display how could you possibly be wrong? Noone would be proud.

the lions are pretty pathetic.

dropping from 13-3 and HFA to 9-7 and not in the playoffs is pretty pathetic

but if you're happy sitting and waiting for Garrett to finally come around...

we have enouch chicken littles. i'm here to balance you.

balance with what? all you do is make your snappy little IGS comment and then run away

I guess hanging off Hos' coattails provides extra weight

This season is a microcosm of what's been broken about this franchise for so long though. I think the grander scheme of things, in addition to the highly disappointing nature of this singular season, is what adds to the emotion we're all feeling right now.

Look at this season as just one year and, yeah, it was a rough year. Could have been better, could have been worse.

But step back and realize we've been saying this for 12 years, and how historically bad our December record over this stretch has been, and I begin to cringe.

I don't like it when I see the Cowboys' playoff/December records over the last 12 years compared to franchises like Arizona, Detroit and New Orleans. Yet that's the class we're in right now. Sure, we've racked up more regular season wins I'd imagine, but we're reaching some pretty historically poor marks.
