Nick Carter on Cowherd today about Dak

Using your ogic, every thread on this board is useless, because none of what any of us say means a damn thing. Next person to bash JG .. close it down. Its useless because Jerry isnt gonna listen to us here.
Garrett might have listened, I don't see him clapping as much :)

Based on the organizations decisions regarding QB and support around him I see absolutely no issue finding a replacement through the draft to mimic what Dak does and keep the QB salary low to allow for the team around him to continue their high level of play.

We play an ultra conservative, minus a few shots here and there, pass game, where the ball is usually going to a guy 5 yards out or less. I see little risk asking a guy not to try to win the game for us, so there's little pressure for whoever is there. It would make sense to draft a guy in 2019, let him learn for a year then compete with what we have.

We can keep cycling QBs every 3-4 years unless we find THAT guy who can do it all no excuses attached. This will allow us to keep the core of the team strong over time, not having to rebuild at any given moment.

Its really as simple as this.

Heard this today and could not agree more.

He used Matt Ryan as the line, and said if a qb is above that line, you can pay him bucks... the Rodgers, Brady, Rivers type QBs.

If the QB is below that line, you can not pay the guy like he is a superstar qb... if you pay a below Matt Ryan QB like he is Brady, you are screwed.

Said he would let Dak play next year for his 700 k deal and see what happens and if you need to Franchise him with the non exclusive tag, which would mean if anyone signs him away from you, they have to give up 2 number 1 picks.... and as Carter said, nobody is gonna give up that for Dak.

This was good stuff and i agree 100% As he said, if better than Ryan, pay him. If he is not better than Ryan, you got to be prepared to walk away.

:hammer:

You basically have 2 more years of control....to find out if he is for real...has peaked...or is trash. That would be the way to go...but I still think Jerry is so gung ho to show the world he can turn crap into gold just by saying it so...that he is gonna give this turd 150 mil over the next 5 years...just to prove a point.

That would be way over paying for his skill set.

He needs too much help. Anything over 20 million a year you start looking for another QB and let him play out his contract. Maybe Franchise tag him like the poster said if needed to. But 25 million would cripple this team down the line.
Look at the numbers these QBs are getting he is in line for 22-25 mil

I still want to see if he goes back into shell shock after a bad pressure game. Half last year and half this year is a long time. If he can do that he will be okay.

And you think that it will not be better going forward?

The change in coaching has already reeled off 5 straight wins with this OL you say is no good.

Some mirage.

I think you need to hold your head up and take a look at some highlight film.

Who is that blocking for Zeke?
I believe he is stating they are not the dominant/top in the league line like they had been

These experts on TV need a kick in the balls.

Who are they to structure what is right or wrong?

If somebody did this to them..

they would be screaming price fixing over their incomes.

Also it's discrimination of t

No.

We are scrambling over it.

Understood.

If we get Martin back for the playoffs..

and Tyrone heals enough to play his game..

we be good enough.

If we get some luck that would help.

Hope we did not use up all our luck in the Iggles game.

We are good enough but we are no longer at that level that we can just go out there and have our line completely dominate the game

Yes.

And I think that is what triggered all the TDs to Cooper in the Philly game.

We had to score quickly to keep up.

Necessity is the mother of invention.

#1 - we don't know what the contract extension will be so its way premature to say if its an overpayment.

#2 - the 2019 Salary cap will around 190 Million, so even a 20 Million dollar contract is equal to about 12 Million for when some of those QB deals were signed on a percentage basis.

#3 - QB is one of the few positions that can lose a game (or many of them) all by themselves. Go watch the game Mark Sanchez started for the Commanders before you say things like "Just walk away from your starter". You could also go rewatch Cooper Rush in this preseason when he was facing starting caliber players.

#4 - The main issue with Dak is that he plays much better when his OL is healthy and it will be next season. Even this year he has improved at throwing under pressure. You absolutely have to get Frederick back and Tyron & Martin healthy before you make decisions that can wreck your franchise for a decade like "walking away" from your starting QB without a replacement on board.
Have to really agree with Kaiser here, excellent points. There will always be the Dak haters or dis tractors and that is fine because we are all fans. What gets me upset is when they try to compare Dak to Brady or Big Ben or Rodgers. The only way you can compare is by stats and if they look at stats based on the games played that Dak has played then he is above that imaginary line.

Can he be better, you bet and he will be with the work he puts in daily. Will we win the division this year, looks like it but will we win the NFC or possibly the Super Bowl, well we need a lot of things to go our way but anything is possible in the NFL. I would challenge fans to also look toward next year also. What do you think the offense looks like next year with Dak, Zeke, Cooper, Gallup, Brown, probably Wilson and a healthy OL of Smith, Williams, Frederick, Martin and Collins. And that is not to mention the way the TEs have played recently and will be better next year. Sorry but that offensive, at least currently, looks much better than any other offensive in the NFL.

Will Dak get a contract that we like or don't like, you bet it will happen. Right now it is just a guess on what it will be. Let's just ride this season out to see where it goes and enjoy the ride. My hope is the off season won't begin until Feb 4th and that would be magic.

Dak is not playing a game next year if he is not extended. This let's make him play out his contract crap works for scrubs not a player like Dak. Nick Wright is the same talking head that had Dak in the Hall of Fame in 2016. He jumps on and off of bandwagons.
lol.... sure, Dak would just sit out next year if he is not extended..... and you think wright is nuts?

I hit CRTL+ALT+F7 and my computer automatically prints:

Drew Brees had a bad stretch at the same point in his career as Dak, go check the stats. Also Brees is Saint because the Chargers didn't think he was worth a big contract.
Brees is a Saint because the Chargers thought hi shoulder was shot... same reason dolphins past on him.

If you dont think Dak will get extended this offseason, you are a bigger idiot then Mr. Wright.
I didnt say tat.... He probably will. It is just foolish IMO. Why not get him for 700k next year, then give him his new deal. I see NO advantage to signing him this off season.
