RELEASED Nolan Carroll Released

Stop making sense...........

I mean can you really be surprised though?

It shouldn't shock anyone when your top free agent signings over the past few years have been Mayowa, Thornton, Carroll and Paea that you are left with little help from your FA strategy.

He was always a short-termer, but being out and Lewis stepping up made him expendable. Entering camp, our top three corners were him, Brown and Scandrick (not in that order). His play in the Denver game and Lewis at least looking like he belongs on the field cemented his fate, although admittedly I did not think we'd cut bait until the end of the year.

I hope this is a good sign that Awusie is pretty healthy considering that we need depth beyond the top three spots.

I agree he was a short term signing, thought he would only stay 1 year. Just interesting to me they just decide to cut him when he(unconfirmed aka just a guess) was still out due to a concussion. Lewis has played well, but thought they would just keep Carroll for depth, and release Bene due to conditional pick.

No.

You forfeit the right to be surprised or disappointed when you're shopping off of the clearance rack.

But they have to start questioning how they're doing things there.

Not shocked by this. Journal and chido have been doing better than expected. Also brown has been a huge surprise upgrade. With scandrick as well back it was inevitable. Now white will be brought up.

3 million down the drain. Great acquisition.

Good thing we didn't waste that money on T.J. Ward or Zach Brown.

2 for 2 on signing Eagles Free Agents (yeah...talkin' bout you, Thornton). The Jones' really got a knack for striking oil...

Chido has been injured most of the year. Played week 1, injured early in week 2 and came back for week 5 only to reinjury it again.
Think it's too early to say how he has been this year, imo.

Mayowa led our team last year with 6 sacks. Can't call him a miss

And got benched for stupid play, which he has done again this year.

The issue with Mayowa is that he was THE signing last year to fix a pass rush. He's the only DE we brought in to a team that the owner said needed pass rush help.

That alone deems him to nothing more than a blah FA signing.

And he was benched for several games. For doing exactly what he continues to do now. Failing to keep his running game responsibilities.

Not only is he not producing any consistant pass rush, he's a total liability against the run.

He's a "miss" all right.

Feel free to correct me when the team re-signs him though.

He was brought in to help juice the pass rush and ended up leading our team in sacks. What else was he suppposed to do?

His production has already corrected you. He led the team in sacks there is no way you can twist that fact away.
