Norm also said that fans want to make excuses and nit pick on the little things, but don't want to admit that their team just isn't good.

The Dallas Cowboys are not a good football team. You can blame the penalties, turnovers, the QB, offensive coordinator, head coach/defensive coordinator, owner/GM, secondary, pass rush, WR's; but the bottom line is we're a mediocre team that will probably finish 8-8.

I agree with Norm the team is not that good. Blame lies with Jerry, a good GM he aint.

We had that person. He's now a DE in Oakland. BTW, he had two more sacks alone today then the entire Dallas defense.

And I was against getting rid of him from day one.

Said it was stupid, especially considering he had one year left on his contract anyway.

In terms of being one among the NFL elite, no. Not until they stop throwing these types of games away.

If we are a no talent garbage team that the Giants are pathetic themselves because they had no business being in that game other than Dallas giving them every opportunity to be.

Lots of talent with lots of idiots and a hint of bad luck.

I think that's where we are as a franchise. All that talk of us being so "talented" is a such of BS. I feel like this team just doesn't have that killer instinct you need to win big games like tonight. We don't have enough impact players on defense, our QB turns the ball over at the worst times, and bad coaching usually catches up to us.

Sorry to say that but to me that's alot of crap.

I followed the game and i saw a Dallas Team that dominated the oposing team nearly 3 quaters. If not for some stupid mistakes by our QB and one or two other players (Flozels triiping penalty and TNews PI comes to mind) we would have entered the final quater with a big lead.

He is right when he says it looks like this team lacks the killer instinct. But that's nothing new. Kiler instict was heavily discussed last year already.

To put it that way that our team isn't just a mediocre team is just nonsense to me. We played bad at a key position today - Quaterback. If we played well there we would have rolled over the Giants and nobody would have questioned the rest of our team.

Heck if he was just average we'd have won by 10.

Sadly, Norm may be correct on this one.

Its not that they aren't good. They are really good.

But why do they insist on giving games away.

Why does Jaq Reeves let the Giants walk down the field in the playoffs?

Why does Terry Glenn get a safety to turn the game around in the seattle playoff loss?

Why do we give up 2 70+ yard runs out of no where to the Ravens?

Why?

Please someone tell me?

Its just a re-occuring thing that wont go away. As soon as it does we can shut all the haters up but until we do than its just more of the same disapointment.

Unbelievable Dallas.

I'm really beginning to believe there's some kind of curse on this team. I've never seen a team commit so many dumb penalties and turnovers year after year..

You gotta love Flozell tripping a guy when we make a big play too.

Five yard play that would never happen.

A big strike downfield though? OH yeah.. Tripem Flo.

ive said all along (well last week i just dont get opportuniies anymore to be online like i used to) that at best we are a 9-7 team and at worst an 8-8 team. Lets see we have a soft head coach who has built this team on his image, we have a super talented QB that just doesnt have the mental toughness to lead a QB anywhere far, we have no huge impact WR we got rid of him although im not bashing that we let T.O go just bashing that we made no move to try and somewhat replace him. Our o-line is inconsistent and undisciplined as they constantly kill themselves in big situations. and we have a young talented secondary that is inconsistent. The only area of true strenght is with Ware, Witten, and at the RB position but i believe someone mentioned Barber got hurt. All these ingredients equal to an average football team...

Disagree on the talented part. Safties are below average. Two corners are unproven, the other on the wrong side of 30 and declining.

On Offense we are in good shape..We jsut need romo not to make stupid mistakes and errant throws and turnovers.

Based on what we have witnessed from Romo the last 3 years, asking him to not make stupid mistakes and turnovers is like asking water not to be wet.

Yeah, I seriously believe Hamlin is gone after this year. I wouldn't be surprirsed if they're having internalized discussions about it right now. Hamlin and Carpenter NEED to go.

If Dallas isn't that good, what are the Giants? Aren't they supposed to be the class of the NFC? And they needed +4 on turnover margin and a last-second field goal to win.

Who is the class of the AFC? The Patriots? The Steelers? The teams that lost to the Jets and Bears?

We need a little perspective up in here.

let me answer that for you, the Patriots won SBs five years ago so you are wrong, the Steelers are the defending champs so you can suck it and the Giants won because they are tougher mentally

well i put a lot of faith in scandrick and jenkins being good football players for this team one day especially on scandrick even though he was horrible today. however they have all the tools to be great cb's and well ur right about the safeties i was thinkin more of the cb's than safeties when i mentioned the secondary. and Newman i have no idea why he looks so horrible so far this year, granted he has had many injuries the last few years that might have slowed him down but still i didnt expect him to be a weak link on this team so far in this early season.

The more I consider Norm's point, the more validity I find in it.

Since the Cowboys 3-0 start last season, they've gone 7-8. Most Cowboys starters are in their late 20s and early 30s -- well into their primes. They certainly aren't rebuilding; there is no great, young talent being groomed behind the starters, and the Cowboys drafted entirely for depth and special teams this season.

This team is as it's going to be for next few years (unless Jerry takes it apart and starts over), and that seems to be about .500.

Sobering thought.
