For all those joining the train.. welcome but you are 8 years late and a its a whole lot worse now. I've been calling Dak out since he started.. he rode a near perfect OLine and the best rookie RB the league had seen in 3 decades and one of the dumbest coaches coupled with the worst owners in the league to a starting NFL QB position. From Day 1 Dak has been flawed.. bad footwork, inaccurate throws, poor field vision, lack of anticipation and a knack for taking credit for things that were not of his doing.
I still cry to think what might have been in 2016 had Romo stayed healthy... and if Romo had been put back in once healthy.. not just for a ring that we should have won but we would probably never had to hear about Dak again other than as a back up.
Then Dak lovers.. blamed the defence.. blamed the HC, blamed the OC (x3), blamed Zeke.. blamed the schedule, blamed injuries... blamed the receivers for not being 10 foot tall and able to catch behind their backs after diving out of bounds.
So many of us pleaded with Jerry not to pay this man money.. but not only did JJ pay him.. he put him on stupid crazy money with eye watering back ends.. the kind that you give knowing that you are going to extend him to defer the cap hit but meaning we are 100% stuck with this dud for a while yet.
And now here we sit.. no more excuses.. no more Zeke and Pollard to carry his ***.. when the defence isn't able to dominate.. and we need the offence to do its job.. it comes up short once again and not a little bit short.. a LOT short. This wasn't an aberration.. this is who Dak is and has been for a long time. Dak sits behind one of the best OLines in the league.. has one of the longest 'clean pocket' times in the league and uses that to make the bare minimum of throws against bad defences to rack up stats. But anyone with eyes could see what he is. Today it just hit a lot more people between the eyes.
He is a bus driver.. I think he could be enough to get us there if everything goes right.. but for the love of this franchise I hope we make the change now. Let's find out what we have in Lance.. let's see what he can do under the bright lights and then lets go find a QB in the draft. Yes Dak will be a cap hit.. but nothing can stop that now. What we can not, must not do.. is shackle ourselves to this loser any longer.
Dak has regressed.. his peak will always be his rookie year (and thank Zeke for that). I don't want to see anymore and nor should we have too. What a shambles.
