I might have called two or three plays differently, but geesh we had 440 yards penalties...with maybe another 50 yards called back.

You want to vent because we lost. You wouldn't be saying any of this had we got a defensive stop at the end.

This is such simplistic analysis. What did 440 yards get us? A loss.

Yeah, if the D makes a couple of stops, maybe we win. But if Linehan doesn't ignore Elliott at the end of the first half, maybe we score 7 and we win the game. Or maybe if when we get into the red zone in the 3rd Q, on 2 and 1 we don't run a bizarre screen that was easily picked up by the GB defense. Hyde didn't even make a play on the WR, he knew exactly where the ball was going as people in the game thread suggested we telegraph that play with our alignment, etc. Maybe if we get 3 or 7 there, it doesn't matter what the defense does.

Calling three or four plays differently, properly, can be the difference between winning and losing. So to diminish that and want to eschew any criticism of the offensive coaches is just not correct IMO.

Garrett did a great job to get us here. We lost because one of the best QBs in the league did something amazing.

Your wrong....Garrett didnt do anything....Dak and Zeke were great...This team is done because they were lost and confused in the 1st half. That is on the Head Coach...Its win or go home...and Garrett got caught playing from behind and that hung the defense out.

When it is 3rd and 3 with 40 secs to go and you are in field goal range with the best run game in the league and a rookie QB playing his first playoff game you don't go empty set

Stupid stupid stupid decision

Team was flat and unprepared and finally adjusted when down 21-3

All on the HC

What kills me is we took Zeke out of the Detroit game early, we don't play him in the last game of the season against the Eagles, we don't let him go for Eric Dickerson's record because we're resting him for the playoff run, and then we take him out in the second half and refuse to use him on third and short inside or near the red zone?

We wasted him like we wasted this season. :banghead:

I don't get the obsession Linehan has with these "packages" that he must use on 3rd down. It's almost a given that on every third down, unless its 3rd and inches, we go to a package where Zeke comes off and Dunbar comes in. I like Dunbar............... if used right. But to take Zeke off most third downs drives me nuts. If anything, he can be a value added blocker.

We talked about the substitutions all week. Hell, the players talked about it. Then the first series we give them a few play and a third down conversion. Coaching. It will always be an uphill battle. Dak will have to overcome it. Tony never could, let's hope Dak can someday.
Yep. I made a post yesterday talking about what this game will mean as far as historical purposes. I posed the question did Romo hold Garret back or did Garret hold Romo back. I feel that Garret has to go and we need a good head coach. A lot of the fan base blame Tony Romo for our playoff issues and/or win or go home scenarios to get in the playoffs. Romo deserves his share of blame but Romo didn't play today and the team came out in the first quarter flat on offensive and defensive side of the ball. One thing with our playoff games or win and in games is the team always seemed to be unprepared to play. We came out today unprepared to play. So Romo didn't play so that means Garret is not ready to coach in the big leagues yet. I feel Garret held Romo back and there's a common theme that in the playoffs or win or go home games, Garret's team are not ready to play.

I just pray that Jerry figures it out before he wastes Dak's and Zeke's career the way he wasted Romo's and Witten's career.

How about on the 13 yard line early in the first quarter? Needed one damn yard. Set the tone.

Yeah, even when we were winning during the regular season, I said I did not like Linehan. He is undisciplined and just seems to lack common sense sometimes.

Always X # of players away
yeah always something, meanwhile he has got to div round 3 times and lost all 3.

I was watching the end of the KC Pitt game, and the steelers had a choice, run 3 times and punt, or try passing, and if
they get a 1st down KC never gets the ball.
Now JG has and would run 3 and punt, Pitt played to win and passed twice, and they won.

A HC needs to know when to be bold, and JG just doesnt know, the not going on 4th downs, and playing for FG at end, shows that.

Garrett offers nothing in terms of game day strategy, which is why the team's often superior talent is squandered in the playoffs.
yeah he squandered EE today, although I dont know if Linehan has complete control over offense, so it could be he is to blame.
I never see JG talk to him during game.

So could be linehan is to blame for some of this?
Either way, JG is a yes man, he could be more proactive.

And this was a golden opportunity that they just wasted.

Garrett is the reason I had a bad feeling about this game. It is so obvious he is in way over his head. The team came out flat and made stupid penalties. To top it all off we get the hallmark of the failed Garrett era with bad clock management. I guess Jerry needs to train him a few more years. We have already wasted away Romo's career on this clown, I guess Jerry wants to waste Dak too. Just as long as he is "comfortable".

that is it, he lacks the ability to innovate, and to be bold , or tough.
Everything is a process, and just execute, and Dak made him look good this year, but in playoffs, he faces better coaches and teams,
and then it shows up.
Dallas always is flat after a bye, so not sure what they do during byes lol.
