Thats almost as bad as Vick making it. At least Allen is living on his past, Vick has no past to lean on.

Alexander said:I hate to say this, but we really did not deserve many in there this year. Williams deserved it. Newman probably should have. You could make a case for Witten, but it would be weak.
Other than that, who else really and truly was one of the best in the game this season?

except for a couple of disappearing acts, I'd could see a case made for Terry Glenn.Alexander said:I hate to say this, but we really did not deserve many in there this year. Williams deserved it. Newman probably should have. You could make a case for Witten, but it would be weak.

Yeah, two is about right, but L.J. Smith over Witten? I don't know about that.Alexander said:I hate to say this, but we really did not deserve many in there this year. Williams deserved it. Newman probably should have. You could make a case for Witten, but it would be weak.

But you're right, there were only a couple on the team who individually should have made it. Alot of the success, such as it is, has been an overall team thing, not because of one specific player...

Alexander said:Well, you said it. Minus the disappearing acts. He simply was not consistent enough. This past Sunday was clear and positive proof that he should not be recognized as one of the best in the game. He is one of the better WRs in the conference, but far from the upper shelf IMO.
You are correct. But it is also a barometer of how truly strong we are as a team. We need more players who are considered the best at what they do. Right now, we simply have too much age and inconsistency.
