OL is the primary problem

Only teams with two number one receivers have success on offense.
Nobody is saying Dallas needs another #1 (though that's what every team should be trying to do). They don't even have a #2 and do not have a RB who can generate explosives. But the good offenses all have significantly more weapons than the Cowboys. It isn't even close.

The QB and RB are far bigger problems than our OL. Our OL is decent, maybe a B grade.
I had a few likely suspects that would d0eny it, blame the rbs, and give o line and high grade.

B eh? Man those huge holes and pancakes...so many!.amazing! Grandma could walk through them!

Seriously though....even just a push would give grandma a chance to get some speed going and we don't even have that. Stonewalling and has been since Travis left.

I want this to be true, but 4 of the last 7 games all have been pretty similar.
Without Pollard and our current no name has been RB committee, there is zero threat in the run game.

Even though we did not run the ball well last year, Pollard was still a threat.
I get it guys.Dowdle is a back up and hes our best back. we need some semblance of a running game to be impactive if our defense is going to continue to be swiss cheese against quality opponents.

Ever since Leighton Vander Esch got hurt the Cowboys front 7 has just never been the same.

He got clowned on a lot but he was a clear difference maker and had a presence on the field.
Presence my arse. He was on skates with the rest of the defense.

DT is the biggest issue since Parcells left. We thrift shop with this position then wonder why we window shop when it comes to the Lombardi

It is not going to happen this year. Not with this group. Next year Guyton and Beebe will be more experienced, but Martin and Steele need to be replaced.

Best way to help the defense is to have a dominant run game.

We have 3/5ths of an OLine and no legit RB. So let's go spend money on a WR. That sounds like a GM Jethro move 100%.

This. Nate Newton brings this up every week. The single worst thing to do to the defense is go 3 and out. Next worst is a turnover.

Isn't it strange how so many fans think another WR will fix this?

Most fans have no idea how the game is actually played. They think football is a 1 on 1 sport.

Was Micah getting a bunch of sacks because of our great coverage corners or was our DB's getting a bunch of INT's because of Micah's pressure???

Interesting how our sacks and int's are both down at the same time. Football is a complimentary sport.

A great OLine and DLine makes everyone's job easier. Just look how great all the RB's look in SF after McCaffrey goes down. We will most likely get a very up and close look at it soon enough.

OL is definitely a huge issue and is the core of a lot of our problems. Dak usually has no time to throw. Guyton is terrible but mainly due to him playing Tackle when he only played Guard at OU. Whose bright idea was it to do this? Zack Martin is at the end of his career. Tyler Smith still has room to grow for sure. Just isn't a great unit. Reminds me of the OL's we had before Tyron/Martin/Frederick were in place as a trio. Not good.

Adding another WR here would do zero because we don't even have adequate time to throw the ball.

Guyton played ORT in college. He started out at OLT, and then switched to ORT. Want to know why?

Dillon Gabriel is left handed. Playing ORT for a left handed QB is the same at playing OLT for a right hander.

This OLine is nowhere near as bad as the pre-Fredsy OL. Not even close.

The bright idea came about by having a glaring need at LT, which forced us to fill a need and not best player available.

You could have ask Will McClay who is the best remaining LT available and you can ask him who is the best player available? I guarantee you they were not the same player. That is why we traded back to begin with.

After getting blindsided by Martin last year, Jerry panicked with Tyron Smith, and then did nothing in the off season, which forced us to reach in round 1 for a LT. We most likely tried to trade back again.

Keep in mind we have a legit LT already on our roster. However, Jerry does not want to have to pay him as a LT in the future. How much you want to bet he still gets paid like a LT on his next contract???

Future OLine should look like this:

LT - Tyler Smith
LG - 1st round draft pick
OC - Beebe
RG - Veteran FA
LT - Guyton

How is the ol so bad? Can’t run block. Can’t pass block. Dak is not good enough to win without some type of run game- not many qbs are. Ol is playing pathetic
Mike Solari, every since his hiring as the Oline coach, this line has regressed
