Olbermann to work football pre-game show for NBC

Case in point...

No, it isnt

It would be like ESPN hiring OJ Simpson to do Monday night Football. I don't care WHAT they are doing, I have a difficult time enjoying the commentary of someone who has so few values and no real sense of morality.

Limbaugh did when he had his gig. It's too easy to pigeonhole people though when they disagree with your views.

He's dug his own hole through many years of terrible, biased reporting

You've already proven my point. There's no need to keep blabbering and saying it a new way. Trust me, everyone gets it. You're not that cryptic or subtle that it goes over people's heads.

I disagree with them all and think they're all boobs. I'm neither liberal nor conservative.

For some reason I don't remember Limbaugh's short stint on ESPN. I remember the McNabb controversy obviously, but I don't remember much else. Are you saying he did or did not lose his political side?

And I'm not trying to be, you're trying to skew my words to fit your ideas.

If he was just a run of the mill political analyist, I would have no problem with him. His politics arent what bother me, it's the way in which he goes about flaunting them in cold, often heartless ways.

I'm not political either. I think both parties are fishermen and most people are fish seeing the worm.

Before he got stupid, Rush did not get political. He tried to talk football. One big difference though is that Olbermann got his skins on the wall as a sports guy. He's not my cup of tea, but he's smart and I believe he will be fine. I just don't see the need of personality that strong with Costas already in the chair. I consider Costas the best and he doesn't need an Olbermann.

...and he keeps right on sharing his views of the man even though I have now pointed out 3 times that we get it.

If your head was any thicker I'd advise a mugger to go for your knees.

Limbaugh made a point, which was true about the media and everyone made it a racial statement that they attributed to Rush's view.

He got railroaded.

BTW, Rush's point was sports related. Not political. He was speaking about the sports media.

This is precisely my problem. I watch Costas on HBO and he's just a very classy, intellectual type host that isn't about hype and being loud and flashy or cheesy and lame with his humor.

Costas and Olbermann are just night and day to me. The Walter Cronkite and Howard Stern of the sports world (not a perfect comparison, but you get the point).

I'd like to see the NBC staff keep a very laid back, calm, mature feel. I think Olbermann lowers it a notch (or three).

But like I said, I won't be watching it anyway with Tiki on the show. I listened to his show on Sirius for a year or two and he's just about the most annoying pompous jerk on the plan.

I agree with every word about Costas. Tiki doesn't bug me like he does some of you.

Whatever. If you're going to avoid your own statements when questioned, there's no point to this debate

And by the way, I didn't say I'm not political, I'm just not a liberal or a conservative. :)

What debate? You're telling me your opinions of Olbermann's moral character. I could give a crap. I've said it 4 times now.

True, you did. My bad. I'm not political. Not gullible enough to believe either party cares about solving anything.

Yes, but do you care about his moral character? :p:

Nope, nor his politics which is the reason for the judging of his moral character.

I am surprised that it has taken so many turns, but given what happened yesterday I think some latitude is okay for this. Make no mistake though, I don't want it to get too political.

To me, this is about Olbermann doing football, but I can separate that from his politics. Some can't.

If I may give my opinion...

I always viewed Olbermann as Bill O'Reilly with a leftist flavor. Both characters, in my opinion, are insufferable in their own way, but I find O'Reilly far more palatable.

O'Reilly is abrupt and self-righteous--two qualities that I can endure. Olbermann, however, exudes that pompous elitism so indicative of the American Left.

Oops...did that last line go too far?:)

I can't defend or condemn either guy. Their politics mean less to me than something I might step in out in the pasture.

Left?

Right?

They both want your vote and money. Neither care to fix anything. Never have. Never will. A lot of talk.

I tend to agree. In fact, during this most recent election, I voted mainly libertarian. In the past, I had always voted a straight-party ticket.
