Do you have a job?

How do you hold a job if you are drinking every day during work hours?

My dad is a pipefitter and is one of those all day drinkers. Granted, he does get fired/"laid off" ALOT for gettin caught drunk on a job, but he just goes back home and lives on what he made from that job (he makes somethin like $40 an hour, and he's still just an ordinary Journeyman) until the money gets low or he gets antsy, and he just calls up his local Union and they find him somethin again.....I would gladly follow in his footsteps (Being a Union Pipefitter, not the all day drinking lol) if I wasnt so horrible at math/measurements.

Not to be dismissive of your stories about the serious topic of alcoholism, but I Love Beer too.

I've probably had around 2000 different beers in my life.

There are actually breakfast beers, but my favorite early morning beer is oddly Heineken... Usually with something greasy to eat.

Favorite styles ranked:

Belgium Quads
English Pale Ales
Stouts

That said I'm not a beer snob and I've been happily been drinking Miller Lite the past few weeks after a Cowboys watching party left me with an unused case.

Ever have a Newcastle in the morning? Sublime!

This is an outright ignorant post (as it pertains to Mary Jane). All or nothing posts do nothing but shed a perspective on the person dishing them out.

Yes, it can make its users lethargic, as it does for me, but that side-effect is not an end all, be all. Not even close.

If you want to go there, we can.

(And I like you so very much, Sam, for whatever that's worth. But I will debate this with all my might, as I can cite many folks in my circle who need/use herb for very legit reasons, while also are productive members of our society. Some of which are my heros that you could [I assume] never relate to).

Respectfully, of course.

There is nothing ignorant about what I wrote and it is all fact. Not sure what you're trying to argue here. I think your imagination took what I said and ran with it.

Very sorry to hear that about your pops, J. My heart goes up to a fellow comrade in arms.

My dad, too, is a drinker. He is incredibly successful (I think, at least... I guess it's all relative), but I hear ya.

Hearing "functional alcoholic" stings. Not a dig at you, as I clearly go over what scientific America suggests a person drink. I am fearful of my liver, and I go on sabbaticals where I abstain. But I'm sure it's not enough to offset the alcohol damage.

Damn, why does alcohol have to be so damaging (physically/rhetorical)?!

Try weed. It's much, much safer and its medical benefits are amazing especially effective for us vets.

Sam, it wasn't my imagination, I was referring to your "weed will make you do nothing to" comment.

In any event, sorry if I came across adversarial or argumentative. Peace, brother :)

I have many battles that partake daily :)

But as I said earlier in the thread, unfortunately Mary Jane's side effects (lethargy, paranoia namely) don't agree with me. But I absolutely support it, brother.
