OPINION: Jimmy Johnson will return to Cowboys

A young defe. with depth....a sparkling new stadium...why not.

That's wierd, he has always struck me as a guy who's teams play over their head. Sadly he's never had the money behind his teams to get it done.

However, he does surround himself with the best people he can find as far as coaches...unlike some other coach we know:bang2:

Why is everyone wanting JJ back so badly? I loved him in the day, but that day has come and gone. JJ showed what he could do with FA & a salary cap in Miami. I was not very impressed personally & I don't see any Herschel Walker trades coming anytime soon either.

DING DING DING we have a winner

The biggest problem JJ had in Miami was that he wanted to get rid of Dan Marino, but was overruled by the owner...so his hands were tied from the start....

And the fact he sucked at managing the cap.

You get us a great young QB (maybe, hopefully Romo) and that will make our HC look like a genius, whoever he is.

Managing the cap is the GM's job .......Jimmy's expertise is evaluating talent and motivating that talent.

He was the GM also.

That is correct and as GM and HC he could bring in the players he wanted and things did not go very well. Miami drafted a number of RB's none ever got the job done which is why Miami eventually brought in Ricky Williams. The further removed from the college game Johnson became the worst his draft picks became. I like Jimmy and think he was a very good motivator but he was also one who delegated he did not call the offense and did not call the defense and while there is nothing wrong with that and there are other coaches who do the same but I think many people are taking a walk down memory lane and I'm not sure Johnson could ever achieve the same results.

Amen to that. Some people think Jimmy = 3 more Lombardi's. Time has changed, and I'm not sure he has changed with the game. JJ is good at what he does now, analysis.

Don't get me wrong I like Jimmy and think he is a good coach but I also think he was at the perfect place at the perfect time with an unbelievable trade and dropping Shula his 1st choice and getting Norv ended up helping Aikman out allot. By the way Jimmy still owes the devil one soul.:lmao2:

Those extra picks really made Jimmy. Some of them were great, while others weren't so great, but when you have that many picks, you should come out ahead.

With the personnel Dallas has right now, I think Weiss would be the slam-dunk best fit. That being said, he has to be sitting pretty with Notre Dame right now, so the deal/situation would have to knock his socks off.

I'm sure Chicago's coordinators will get a long look at HC opportunities this offseason, granted the Bears continue to have success.

A few years back, when OU was constantly in the National Championship picture, Stoops was mentioned, but I don't think he would be too great a fit.

In-house, I guess you would have to go with Zimmer, although that makes be want to puke...

1. R. Bullard
2. K. Ismail a.k.a "BeWare94"

I'm adding myself to this petition. To tell the truth, I wanted to start this one about 10 years ago.

Heck ,even Barry won a SB with that threesome.
