He was the GM also.

You're missing the point.

The point is he wouldn't be in Dallas - he could stick to what he does best.

I don't want Jimmy back. It's a different day and age. His Miami Dolphins were woeful. Give me Charlie Weiss or a defensive guy off the Steeler tree.

Maybe Carolina will go batty and fire John Fox so Dallas can hire him as a defensive coordinator and when Bill steps down promote him. Too wishful? Let me dream guys, let me dream:D

The only way Jimmy would have any real success is if he could bring back Norv and a couple of his other assistants (not Campo or Zimmer though).

I believe this is what is keeping Parcells from being successful right now, his assistant coaches are nowhere near the caliber they used to be in his other coaching stops.

What is with the campo venom, he was a quality assistant who coached DBs well and had top 5 defenses and a pair of number one ranked defenses during his tenure as defensive coordinator.

It won't shock me even a little bit.

Man, I hope not, we would be passive on offense too I guess. You would have to have a pot of coffee to watch our games.......

Jimmy has about as much of chance of being the next HC for the cowboys as Tom Landry.

I can't see it. We'd have to spend another 3 or 4 yrs rebuilding the team to fit Jimmy's style.

thats what I was gonna say. But I think Jimmy knows how to use what he has, and I dont know if 3 or 4 years would be the length. Maybe just long eough to "install" Jimmy's playbook.

We're sitting here right now with Bill Parcells and Terrell Owens.

When Jerry Jones is calling the shots, ANYTHING is possible. It's a long shot, and I know some are chalking this up as one of those unrealistic fan dreams. But when Jimmy admittedly leaves the door open, and with Jerry in charge, I'd definitely say it's, at the least, a possibility.

With the way things are going, who knows if Parcells will even be here next year.

I question whether Jimmy can still coach in today's game. If I were a betting man, I'd reluctantly say no. But, as a fan who was still very young when he was here, I'd love to see him back. If for nothing more, for the trip down memory lane.

Hell, isn't that why Washington brought back Gibbs? :)

i don't think jimmy would be aloud to coach , by nfl rules if you do a beer commercial. you're not aloud back in the nfl. if i'm not mistaken thats what kept elway from retuarning after his retirement .but not 100% sure.
