I started this thread last year and people laughed me out of here. I still stand by that sentiment. It's going to happen.

whoever says Zimmer is passive, doesn't know what they're talking about...

Typical strong statement by you. Guess I will say, anyone who is that rude, doesn't know what they're talking about.....and noone wants to hear or cares about what they have to say, anyway.

Give me a coach with solid head coaching experience for this team, so that Jerry will respect them enough to give them some control over personnel. Promote Zimmer, it is Campo all over again, Jerry won't listen to him at all cause he doesn't respect him as much.

A big name coach will get his attention, and is what is needed in Dallas whenever BP decides to leave.

i don't think jimmy would be aloud to coach , by nfl rules if you do a beer commercial. you're not aloud back in the nfl. if i'm not mistaken thats what kept elway from retuarning after his retirement .but not 100% sure.
then explain all those commercials with head coaches doing the beer press conferences

Jimmy and Jerry are like brothers. You might fight with your sibling and have a heated feud or grudge but deep down your utlimate dream is to work alongside your brother. I think both of them would be too excited to work together.

And another reason Jerry would hire Jimmy is that both of them believe in quarterbacks and desire a premier QB. Jerry is just being a good sport and trusting Parcells but deep down, Jery misses having a QB. I think you will see both Jimmy and an attempt to bring a QB in Dallas next fall. And this is coming from a guy who said Jerry was going to hire Parcells when everyone called me crazy and said Jerry's ego would be too big to hire a big named coach.

i think jimmy pt II would be a colossal failure here.

he's not young, not particularly motivated to coach based on his own words... just looking for a plum job (like he wanted to take over for Shula) on the sidelines.

"HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS" yelling won't win many games (see Dolphins).

hes far removed from college and remember this guy wasted a #1 overall on steve walsh via supplimental draft.

also doesn't have the horses, draft picks, walker trade, etc. tilting in his favor... has FA/cap to contend with too. dont' think charles haley would fall in his lap either.

thats what I was gonna say. But I think Jimmy knows how to use what he has, and I dont know if 3 or 4 years would be the length. Maybe just long eough to "install" Jimmy's playbook.

Jimmy didn't take 3-4 years to build the team the first time, and he started with a hell of a lot less talent than we have now.

That Walker trade helped quite a bit not to mention having the overall #1 in his 1st year where Dallas selected Aikman. Jimmy did do a very good job and deserves credit but those 2 things I mentioned had a lot to do with how quickly this team got back to the top

These are very legitimate points - that does even the playing field.

I would love to have Jimmy back. Heck anything that would get the stubborn old has been (BP) and his geriatric QB's out of town would make me happy.
