Optimistic about O Line

No, it's arrogant to think that the team has to meet some standard set by you to have improved.

We all would have liked to see them sign Hutchinson and Bentley - but they chose not to for various reasons.

That's not enough for me to write off the improvements they did make.

I guess I just have higher standards than you. It has been a long time since the Cowboys were a championship caliber team, and it is showing in our fans mindset.

It's the same principal though. Throwing a few chlorine tablets in a sewage dump doesnt make Evion

That depends on how dirty the sewage dump is to start with...so that again, makes absoutely no sense...

Bottom line is that it all boils down to opinion at this point. We can debate how they have or haven't improved all we want but we'll have to wait to see the results during the season.
And you know stasheroo, I agree....We are HOPING our OL is better (and its not factual that it is indeed better)

How did you know that statement is true? Can you see the future? I mean, come on, my friend!!

:star:

Look at the Steelers O-Line last year, or the Patriots the year before, or the Buccanears two years before, etc.

Now compare those to our line

Get it?

Yeah, I think there's way to much negativity going around for a team that's had as good an offseason as the Cowboys have.

If that doesnt make sense, you really need a refresher course on reading semantics, because that's a pretty obvious analogy.

We had a great offseason last year, much better than this years. Look what that got us, another year with no playoffs.

True. Nothing has, or can be proven at this point.

I take hope that the team has more and better options than they did a year ago, but it all has to play out.

Week One needs to happen NOW!I just bet my friend on over/under 3 sacks for Jax in week one.I either get $20 if Bledsoe is sacked 3 or more times; or if he is sacked 2 or less; our OL is improved.Win-win situation.

You can think that if you want.

Again, I don't see things the same way.

You be a "half-empty" fan, I'll be a "half-full" fan.

No, I don't get it...BECAUSE YOU AND ME HAVE NOT SEEN THE OLINE YET THIS YEAR!

Get it?

You dont think last offseason was better?

We signed a corner who played like a pro bowler before his injury

We signed a starting QB, NT, and RG

We drafted a starting DE and OLB, both first round choices and both looked like future stars in the 3-4 defense

I can GURANTEE you that, even if this line plays well above their potential, it will not be close to the Patriots and Steelers lines.

You deal from the misguided premise that the negative things you see for the future are fact and that what any positive fans see couldn't possibly be true.

Working from that flawed logic, you'll see what you want to see.

You have it backwards, you see what you want to see, I see what happened on the field last season.

Well, if that's all you have...the Patriots and Steelers could use another fan.

And, you cannot GUARANTEE NOTHING! Just like anyone else on this board can GUARANTEE something happening when IT HAS NOT HAPPENED YET!

GET IT!

Why does it have to be?

Last year's "losers" (by your definition) were still good enough to get the team to 7-2 before injuries undermined them.

And even then, it was failed kicking that cost the team a playoff spot, not just offensive line play.

If Cortez makes a chip-shot in Week 2 the heroics still come up short.

If our kicker makes one in Seattle, 'Boys win.

Thanksgiving - Ditto.

So, despite the "trainwreck" of an offensive line, the Cowboys could have and should have been in the playoffs.

I can gurantee it, just like I can gurantee Randy Moss will be better than Patrick Crayton and just like I can gurantee than Peyton Manning will be better than Drew Bledsoe. Some things are just that obvious, this being one of them.

Where they would have lost very quickly. You dont win in the playoffs with good line play on both sides of the ball.
