Overall, it definitely looks like a successful offseason. The DL appears to be "fixed", but there is always the pitfall of screwing with the fomula that won 12 games last year.

And if they got that wrong, being the offseason champs does not mean a whole lot.

Lol.. It's so refreshing to see people take notice that Jerry & "the gang" had a plan all along.. All the folks that was smearing JJ name are finally put in check. Hopefully we will stop seeing comments like "Jerry doesn't know what he's doing" and "JJ's ego won't allow him to do this, or do that"... Whatever people, yall sound just like all the other haters. Jerry was the "Executive/GM of the year" last year for a reason! And it's looking like he's going to do it again if this plays out like most fans think it will. I for one am proud of the state of our Cowboys and thank the FO for not making rash decisions bc of "arm-chair" fans that think they know best. I can't wait for the season and yes, I'm drinking a tub full of kool-aid. #GoCowboys!!

Its remarkable when a plan finally comes together after nearly 2 decades of futility. Kudos and all is forgiven.

We were successful last year primarily because of a dominant, physical run game. If they managed to screw that up already, this has been a terrible offseason.

They had to get it right. It is the one issue that could make or break the season. Get close to last year, all is well since the D appears to be shored up.

Get it wrong, we are losing a couple of games that we could win. As much as I like the pass rush improvement, this team cannot turn back into a pass first operation and expect to win 12 games.

There have been many, many years where the Cowboys front office made decisions that have come back to bite the franchise in the backside. Joey Galloway comes to mind here. From 1994 until the time Bill Parcells arrived, it seemed like nearly every decision blew up in the Cowboys face.

Yes, the drafting in the Parcells era was better than the previous eight seasons. Obviously, there were some real clunkers as Bill selected from his loyalty to his former players and his home area in northern New Jersey. I am speaking of primarily Carpenter, Fasano, and Miles Austin. However, it is the influence Parcells had on the front office and especially the scouting department in what specifically to look for in players that is paying off for the Cowboys today (I believe).

Since Parcells arrived, there has only been one horrendous draft (2009) and one highly questionable draft (2004). This all points to my belief that Stephen Jones heeded many of Parcells' words while he was here. Stephen, his father, and some of the scouts are the ones who have been around since 2003 (not counting players). The Cowboys have had only two losing seasons since Parcells arrived. When you throw in the transitions, losing salary cap dollars, and a plethora of injuries, that tells me that there is stability and good decision making in the front office.

I hate to say this, but the Patriots have benefitted from Parcells also. The Jets, on the other hand, are finally trying to clean up their own mess after a decade and a half.

Regardless, the Cowboys are going in the right direction.

Guess it's a good thing Garrett said we aren't changing a thing. He wants and expects to be a dominant rushing team. After finally getting to that point and after the successful year we just had, we weren't going to change that formula because Murray left.

If the run game is not successful, he will change to win football games. It is in his nature to pass first to begin with. That is exactly why they had to get the RB situation right.

It does not matter how much he says we are committed to it. Things change when you do not win. If they lose early and aren't running the ball well, there will be a shift.

How can you list Miles Austin's acquisition as a clunker? He was an UDFA who became a Pro Bowl WR.

Look, I get being excited about the FO making "good moves" but please stop it with the over the top hyberbole about Michael being better than any runner in this draft save two.

If he were that, I doubt the Seahawks FO, one that has been to consecutive conference championships, would just give up on him.

Not true. What makes the Seahawk's FO one of the best in the league, is their ability to move on from players, for example, Percy Harvin. The are not afraid to cut their losses from a player and move on.

They appear "right" on Harvin. That is exactly what I was getting at.

Yeah, I should have reworded that. Sorry.

The point is that if he weren't from Monmouth, he probably would never see the light of day as a Cowboy.

CMike is not really a loss. They just re-signed their star RB and got a free replica in Rawls.

The get Rawls for 4 years vs 2 for Michael. A better choice, but not really cutting their losses.
