Jones told Dak to his face he over paid him.

He's demanded things of Dak he never did of Romo - including making Dak play on the franchise tag TWICE.

Each trade deadline...Jerry hasn't moved one bit to bring in a free agent that would tilt the field.

In all the ways that matter, Jerry doesn't believe in Dak. Even now, he's playing nice with Dak because he has no choice if he wants to continue this run.
Dak took Jones to the woodshed in a way that Romo never did. It certainly, solidified Jones reputation of being a weak negotiator. No trade clause for instance...

Are you referring to what Jones said two years ago?
Yes. After making Dak play on the franchise tag twice he finally gave him his ring but then said, "You know...I could have done better." If you want to tell me that he is truly in love now...well, I'm not buying it. Especially since I saw how he fawned over Romo. Without 3 straight 12 win seasons. Heck, he wanted Romo put back in over Dak. Dak is the hard working "other child"...his favorite was Romo.

That’s because there is no pressure in the regular season. When playoffs come Dak tightens up instead of being loose. He needs to embrace the playoffs like Mahones.
That's not an unfair assessment.

Dak straight-up choked vs Green Bay. He played as if the Packers were a fearsome defense and he wouldn't have time to go through his progressions.

He did settle down in the 2nd half, but the damage was done. Our defense never showed up anyways, for whatever that's worth.

The definition of choking is "balling during the regular season" only to lose by subpar play when there's pressure. Otherwise we would all agree he sucks. No, it's just against big time opponents in pressure situations.
Glad you are the one that got permission to define it for us.

I don’t think “broken” is the correct term.

He is what he is.

He is a QB that plays well to very well in the regular season and has choked in the playoffs.

Time to move on. There is no “fixing” what he is.
Wake up. He will be extended in the next 60
days.

So.............................. Jones does not believe in Prescott.............................. but he has had two full offseasons since he stopped "believing in him"................... and has neither invested any high round picks at the position..................... nor made any serious trades to bring in veteran competition to replace Prescott........................... and has only done enough to acquire a former first round pick who could not cut it in San Francisco..............?

Probably. The same as playing for the Yankees brings pressure playing for the Royals doesn’t.

Dak was outstanding in 2016, particularly the playoff game against the Packers. Down 21-3 and brought the team back. He was playing loose and with confidence. Not now.

He looks like Tom Watson at the 2009 British Open. Tom played flawless for 71 holes and was poised to be the oldest Major winner ever. But the pressure got to him on the final hole and it caused indecisiveness and poor execution. He ended up getting blown out in a 4 hole playoff.
What boggles my mind is that Dak TRULY never appeared nervous during his rookie year. He seemed like a grown man at 22. I was HIGHLY, HIGHLY impressed - and I still am buy his character.

I remember Dak being asked about nervous and he said he doesn't get nervous and that large crowds don't bother him because of the college crowds he played before. It was only until the first Eagles game...against Carson Wentz...that I saw Dak LOOK nervous. He was sweating profusely and jittery. Now, we won that game and Dak made plays, but...that was the first time I saw him look visibly nervous.
And you're right, even in the playoff game he looked composed as he tried to bring the team back. Our o-line was so so good, so they gave him ample time, but he was cool, calm and collected. And had we won that game, Dak might have been a different QB.

If there's one game where I think I saw Dak's confidence shaken it was that Atlanta game his 2nd year. Of course I don't know if that was the game that got in his head, but it's as good as any.

So much of the sport is psychological, people forget. Often times, if the quarterback puts up a valiant effort it inspires the Defense to play hard. Other times, when the quarterback is part of the problem, interceptions for instance, the defense won't put up their best effort. That is why the greatest on the field leaders, are the ones that aren't part of the problem.

Gotcha. Yeah, I can't disagree with that.

I'm just not sure I'd call him "broken." Zach Wilson's broken.

Dak choked under the bright lights, but maybe he grows from this and plays more free next time we're in the playoffs.

Almost like a "nowhere to go but up" situation.

He was definitely in his own head vs Green Bay. So maybe there's some confidence that can be obtained by realizing, "It was nothing that the opponent did. I beat myself."

If the Defense gives up an opening drive for a TD, what does that inspire?

Maybe Jerry and half our fans choked, by thinking we had a SB team.
