Our Record If Romo Played All Year?

Our defense kept us in games. Had we had Romo to help the offense, the D would have held up more than their share of the bargain. Our offense with horrible backup QB play wore this defense out.

We lead the league in top

As I stated in the other thread, 7-9 maybe 8-8.

What people forget is who the hell was he going to throw to? Witt and Beas? Dez missed 5 games.

At least 9-4. We'd be running away with the division. This season has just been an absolute nightmare mainly because we lost our All-Pro QB. Such a damn shame.

We were in position to win the game in the 4th quarter of 6 of those 7 games with Weeden/Cassel (and No Dez in most of them). I think would have 9 wins at this point. We went 3-1 with Romo and he didn't have Dez at the end of the Giants game or the Eagles game. I think we would've gone at least 5-2 (possibly 6-1) during that 7 game stretch if we had Romo. I also think we would've beaten GB last week too. That game was 14-7 until the defense finally wore down at the end because the O couldn't sustain a drive. Anywhere between 8-5 and 10-3 with Romo IMO.

His career average is .602. That's 9.5 wins a season. That gets you in the playoffs maybe half the time. So if Romo never missed a game in his career, we'd be a 9.5 win team every season. That's not a contender. Sometimes a 9-win teams gets hot and wins it all, but usually not. So even if your hypothetical universe, we're still barely above the status quo.

Yep and a lot of those wins were with the 26th 28th and 30th ranked defenses at one point or another. This defense is a top ten defense that was built to play with a ball control offense and the lead. There is also a big correlation between turnover ratios when playing with a lead.

None of that happened. Look at our 3rd down conversion percentage look at red zone scoring look at points per drive - to say Romo would not have made a huge difference in wins is hard to believe and we haven't even talked about the mental part of winning.

But if you believe that a franchise quarterback doesn't matter over time drop a grand on the Bengals in the playoffs this year - bet you can get some great odds.

Who cares? Hed be throwing it to them instead of near them. It would be a huge upgrade.

People are living off one year vs 5 year history here. We have more problems than Romo. I say we'd be 6-7. Romo didn't even play that well the first two games pre-injury. That's truth except end of Giants game. Our running game was so so. Dez would still be out and with no running game and Dez, he would be taking shots. TWill can't get open without Dez. D was collapsing late. I just think this season is a product of a lot more than Romo. Still a shot at division but .500 overall

You guys smoke rocks. Read Mr. Sturm, he gets it and I say is way smarter than me or you. We have had good performance, though not quite as good as last year, from the Oline and running game.

We have **** the bed with third downs, which is very attributable to your QB.

I'm in at 10-6 we finish this year with him. Next year I'll lift all offers on our winning record below 9, which I bet you guys have in spades.

When did a say a franchise QB doesn't matter? I said numerous times in this thread that we're a 1-15 team without Romo and a 8-8 team with him (9-7 if he's healthy). That's all because of Romo. I also said we're a bad team and not a legit contender even with Romo. The evidence is our history of 8-8 seasons under Romo and our mediocrity in our 4 games this season with him (and since we're playing hypotheticals in this thread, we should be 2-2 in those games if not for an epically dumb move by Eli). Last year's team looks more and more like a fluke.

I said 13-0 earlier, but really, probably 8-8, maybe 9-7 for the year.

I'm starting to wonder if last year was a fluke. We could've easily went 8-8.
