Overrated/underrated actors

Caruso rules :laugh1:

Not because I think he's a good actor but because it's pure comedy. That character has become a parody of itself and I can't help but laugh.

Wow I've never even seen CSI before. I'll never watch anything with Caruso due to that horrible flick "Kiss of Death".

Also was watching AMC a few weeks back to torture my kid with Sly Stallones acting in the Rambo series. And yes it was well worth it. David Caruso sighting in First Blood.

IMO, after his early works like the Godfathers, Scarface (both classics) and maybe Carlito's way and Serpico, he has become the very definition of an 'over-actor' (if that's even a word). He just goes way overboard in a every single performance.

I wanted to chock him in Scent of a Woman every time he said, Hoo-hah...:laugh1:

he's turned into a parody of himself

him and DeNiro

Not really. He's already received a best actor nomination at a young age, and he is held in high regard.

he was great in half nelson. Lars and the Real Girl was good as well. But half nelson, damn.

Agreed. I was very surprised by his performance in that movie. Great soundtrack too (not a big Broken Social Scene fan, but several of their songs were reworked to great effect in that movie.)

Not a BSS fan? Aren't they from your neck of CA?

Yep, they are from here (Toronto.) I have a buddy who toured with them, taking photos and such. Said they are very cool, down-to-earth types. I like a few of their tunes, but just don't think they are as great as some here make them out to be. Also not crazy about music collectives, where you get like 10 people on the stage at once.

I like streamlined bands like The Who!

Isn't the chick from Metric in that band? Emily something?

Hey Yo, take it easy.

"He has established himself as both a dramatic actor and action star and has had his share of both critical and boxoffice success, for films such as "Rocky", "First Blood", "Cop Land" and "F.I.S.T"."

Emily Haines. I think she started out in BSS and drops by every once in a while.

Is Metric popular in the U.S.A.?

That's the one.

I don't know how "popular" they are. I'd say they have a decent following among the trendier crowds. One of my ex girlfriends introduced me to them 4 or 5 years ago.

Maybe so, but the last scene where he is talking to Assembly is one of my favorite scenes of any movie ever. That is one of my favorite movies.

Don't mean to pull up an old thread but I just saw Robert Downey Jr. on TV and it reminded of this thread. I think as long as he stays sober and out of trouble, he is going to make really good movies.

I thought he was briliant in Chaplin, was good in Iron man and Thropic Thunder.
