Umm...Marion Barber(109th player selected in the 2004 draft)?

Chris Canty?

Bradie James?

Someone needs to start an over/under thread on how long before Paccie screws up.

We got Barber.... whats your point?

We gotten more overall production from 3 4th round picks than the Titans did for a 6th pick in the draft

The thing is, like ive said all along, people are out to get him.

People will make claims against him even if its true or false.

He can't get away from it.

I have no problem with us giving a 4th for a 24 year old player who is one of the more talented CB's in the NFL. CB is a position that is one of the more difficult (and costly) to fill.

Having Pacman will open up possibilities in the draft for Dallas and will keep us from being held hostage by the CB position.

IMO it is almost a certainty that PM will be reinstated and getting a top talent like him is an unexpected gift. A 4th is cheap, IMO. Plus, if he isn't reinstated, we'll get that 4th back next year.

If that's the case - and given our glorious 4th round selections over the past 10 years - I say "good job."................the guy is a scumbag, but IF he keeps himself clean, the talent will speak louder than anything else in the long run....

4th round has been good to us lately - Bradie James, Chris Canty, Marion Barber, and Free/Stanback may turn out to be something yet from the last draft. But in general most players drafted here never become starters, let alone quality starters.

We can probably pick up a 4th by trading down with our #28 pick if we want to. This may not be a bad draft strategy anyways if we are talking about the top of the 4th where there is a strange habit of good players still being available.

I had hoped to get him for an unconditional fifth and no more. But truth be told, I like giving up a 4th with the potential of getting it back if he isn't reinstated much better.

I would hope the Adam Jones and TO comparisons would end, though. TO was labeled as selfish, arrogant and a team destroyer. But he has never been a criminal...ever. TO has actually been a good citizen in every city he's been a part of. It was the team stuff that clouded his tenure in his previous stops.

Adam Jones has been an absolute thug. I will still be rooting hard for him to make the serious changes needed, but I am much more skeptical.

Many say that Jones will realize this is his last shot and will make it work. I hope so. But we do have to remember that many of these athletes have a sense of entitlement and self-absorption that is unparalleled. Just because we can all see that he has reached his last stop if he doesn't change, doesn't mean that he can see it. In his mind, why should he believe it? Look how many chances he has already received.

Hopefully, he will turn things around. I haven't been as hopeful or excited about the possibility of having two really good corners since we first signed Deon. I still remember thinking that he and Kevin Smith would be an amazing duo. One quarter into that season, Smith went down with the achilles injury and was never the same.

I hope Adam Jones and Newman form a tandem that hasn't been seen around here since the 70's.

He can get away. Which is why he needs to stay out of the strip clubs.

I like the move. The guy is a first round talent when his head is on straight. I have faith in Calvin Hill and the Cowboys staff that they will guide him down the right path.

TO, Keyshawn, Canty, Hamlin, etc. They all came in with "baggage". I think, for the most part, they've all been on their best behavior...no reason to believe Jones won't have the same opportunity.

If he screws up, he's gone, but it's a low risk, high reward in my eyes. Jerry's doing his best to bring another Lombardi to Dallas. He's a damn good owner.

I'd rather not have this recidivist criminal on our team, and the next time Jerry talks about "character," it better be accompanied by a laugh track. That said, the Vikings just forfeited three high picks for a guy who's one misstep away from a year-long vacation. By comparison, then, Pacman's compensation looks reasonable.

Once Pacman gets reinstated I'm going to round up my stripper friends and go find him. For the love of the game.

You realize we got Canty; Bradie James and Barber in the 4th round

We also got Skyler Green, Bruce Thornton, and Kareem Larrimore. I understand where you are coming from, but at least we know what we are getting from Pacman; a pro-bowl caliber CB and a pro-bowl caliber kick returner with questionable off-field issues. I would rather have that than someone that might not even make the team.

I still hate TO and if he left the team I would not cry but it is not the same dislike I have for Pacman. I mean come on TO was never had the off the field issues. Two very different dislikes and one is at least tolerable.

Yes I still hate TO and no I do not cheer for him when he scores a TD and no I will not cheer for pacman when he does a big play. I will treat them like I did nine toes I will count the days until they are gone and then celebrate when they get cut.
I applaud your convictions and the ability to stand on them. I really do.

But I just want to point out that our team has always collected players with questionable character and judgement. There have been guys on our team I have loathed trust me.

The point is (like my ways says) it is what it is. Meaning just be happy with the team and it's successes. And don't let a couple of bad apples ruin the bushel.

i didn't have the heart to tell him if all that comes out and pacman never gets reinstated, then not only do they NOT get to KEEP that 4th round pick, they'll give us theirs NEXT YEAR (likely higher than ours this year) and LOSE the chance at our 6th next year.

if that's the real deal i'm glad it screws over the titans for dragging this out anyway and making us put up with 12,348,928 MAKE IT RAIN jokes from people who still think that's funny.

You obviously cannot read.

So you actually think that if Jones dosen't get re-instated then the Titans have to give back the 4th rounder in 3 days but also next years 4th rounder? LOL Dallas gets both 4th rounders? Gees.

A more realistic scenario is Jones gets re-instated and later in the year gets in some kind of trouble and the Titans get to keep their 4th next year as well as the 6th.

Haha yea I doubt it he enjoys his script clubs way to much (yes that is a play on his interview)

You're also forgetting the fact that the guy travels around (EVERYWHERE) with an off-duty cop just to make sure that anything he does can be verified by a law enforcement officer. Guys who don't plan to stay out of trouble don't bother to go to those extremes. He knows it's his last chance. That type of situation has a tendency to rattle a person (especially a person who stands to lose, literally, millions of dollars). If you don't think Jerry and Steven Jones haven't done their due diligence on this guy to make sure that he's "living right" BEFORE they evaluate the risk/reward and invest their money and draft picks, then you're obviously posting out of drama for the sake of drama. Is it a slam dunk? No, not by any means. Does the deal lend itself to favorable results for the Dallas Cowboys? Yep. From every imaginable angle. Whether he plays a down for us or not.

But you obviously have an agenda, I won't muddle it up any more with facts. Carry on drama queen....................

Yep, that's the thing.

Things are going to come out in the civil trials, too. This is a long way from being over and the uncertainty isn't good for the Cowboys.

Extortionists tend not to be given much credibility in trials. I guess we'll have to see how it all plays out.

Regardless, we still need 2 DBs with premium picks this weekend.

What he is saying if you can read is that if Jones does not get reinstated that you would have to give a 4th rounder to Dallas next year.

Your 4th rounder will likely be higher than the one we just gave you.

Please keep up.
