Cool I would like to see those facts because I'm not seeing Romo putting the ball down field, in the cards game he was completing some very high percentage throws but was not putting the ball down field. I'm not aginst Romo in the least but the stats are not telling the whole story. As for Henson I agree he has not looked like a world beater either but he has put the ball down field a bit more than Romo has. If Romo was a lock then I see no reason why Bill has delayed naming the backup

As soon as I read the PC recap, I knew this would start things.

Why is it such a big deal who the backup is?

Is this as bad as it got with QC and Hutchinson?

Funny, they are similar too, a bunch of argument over marginal players.
Because what happens if Bledsoe goes down? You know it can happen especially with the uncertainty of the RT position, and the inability of Bledsoe to avoid sacks, one of those sacks could sideline him for a couple of games.

So then backup QB is HUGE.

If it is a "fact" that Romo has played so much better why has BP not seen it? Why in the world would he go back on what he said about naming the #2 after the 2nd game, and decide he wants to see them again. Maybe its because its not stats BP looks at when evaluating the guys.

There you go again, saying you know what BP knows and what BP thinks. The truth is, you have NO CLUE, nor do any of us. There are many possible reasons as to why BP has not named the backup, unfortuneatly you are blind to them. Let me give you a crash course on how the things work:

1: He is, in fact, trying to save face as long as possible. He knows Henson was brought here to be the future, and now that it's obvious he realizes that he isnt (shown by the fact that he did not play at all last year after we knew the year was a lost cause and could have played him without consequence, and by the fact that he has given Romo more reps in both TC and games) he and JJ dont want to have to admit they *** up royally by putting him 3rd on the DC, behind an undrafted FA. In time he will be forced to name Romo the 2nd QB because Henson is just too unreliable for even JJ to stand.

2: He doesnt want to hear about it for the next 2 weeks. No matter who he names, people will bash him and the papers will whine and everyone with a microphone will ask him how he could be so stupid and so on and so forth, especially if he names Romo the starter.

Rubbish. BP doesn't care what is said by the press. I've watched both players and I just think that both are doing some good things. The mistakes that are being made are young mistakes. Both will be fine and whomever is selected will likely make a bunch more of these mistakes if they see the field. That's the deal. Not more complicated then that.

Henson threw an interception vs.Seattle okay.
Romo could have thrown 3, he was just lucky. I don't see why we are so anxious to dump guys so fast in this league. Did we learn to walk in a day, or 2, or how about a month? It takes time, and if you can watch for things like ball placement or decision making, throwing the ball away, avoiding the rush, then I think that's what counts. BP is looking at things like that, not if you can dump it off in the flat on a 3rd and 12.
I'm not taking up for Henson or Romo, I'm just interested in knowing why so many are willing to give up on Henson so fast.

I agree. Personally I think both will remain on the team so this is not a situation of which guy to cut it is a matter of who will be named as backup

If you are expecting the Cowboys to be a stretch the field, go deep team, you will be sadly dissapointed. This team is not built to throw the ball downfield. Our best receiver is slower than mollasses on a bad day. Our fastest receiver wouldnt be considered a speedster on most teams. We dont have the weapons to throw downfield alot, so why is it Romo's fault that he is just following the system? Henson hasnt thrown deep anymore than Romo.

There go the "if's" again. Henson COULD have had 4 INTs already this preseason, but of course you fail to mention that. No facts, no facts at all.

And he's had 2 full TCs and an entire real season, plus 6 preseason games. He should be showing improvement by now.

Bill has talked alot of taking shots down the field those are his words not mine. Dallas will run a lot no doubt but we will also run a lot of play action and Bill will see to it that we take our shots down the field. As for WR you don't need the fastest guy in the league to go deep and last time I looked Glenn is not slow. Lastly yes Henson has thrown more balls down the field than Romo has. Like it or not those are facts

Yes, that's why he is so cautious about what the media writes because he doesnt want ANYTHING being divolged before he wants it to be.

You are just making ish up now

You don't know that you keep saying what Bill is thinking and you don't know that. It is called an opinion which you are entitled to but don't tell us what Parcells is thinking because the bottom line is you nor I have a clue as to what Parcells is going to do or how he feels.

I have both games at home. I don't recall 4 possible INTs. Two I recall, no more. Be that as it may, he is showing improvement.

Yeah, he did the same thing last year.....and the year before......

We sure tore up NFL secondaries

And playaction is more often that not post patterns, not heave it as far you can.

And I would love to see this "fact" that proves Henson has thrown deep more.

What do you mean I dont know? BP has had reporters thrown out of practice on a consistant basis. He refuses to answer half the questions asked to him in press conferences. He tells many reporters what they can and cannot write about in practice.

Someone needs top define "fact" for you.
