I'd take 2009, 2010, and maybe even 2008 Miles Austin as my 2nd receiver in a heartbeat. But he's not that player anymore because of the chronic hamstring injuries.

Oh I agree with you. If he's hurt of course i'd prefer guys to be in front of him. But from what I can tell he's been healthy and he has a far greater chance of commanding a double team than Terrence or Beasley will.

That's your opinion. If both guys are healthy i'd rather have Miles. Just my opinion. We'll agree to disagree on that one. I guess its the 358 yards in 7 games on a Pats team looking for a #1 option while Grons was injured excites you?

Idc about stats. You want me to bring up miles stat line for the year? I don't think it's very impressive and I know Danny's are far better than miles for the year. The eye test says amendola and it's not close.

I guarantee you, there is not one GM in the league that would take miles over amendola.

The eye test? What exactly does Danny Amendola do better than Miles? Miles is faster than him, has better hands then him, taller than him, bigger than him, more elusive, quicker....what exactly does Danny Amendola do better than Miles? Now I would assume that i'm setting himself up for a "Well he stays healthy" type comment but Amendola is probably more injury prone than Miles. Atleast with Miles its his hammys every time. Its a new injury with Amendola every time he's hurt.

Miles has been hurt all year and has 5 other receiving options playing alongside him.

Well its been how we've looked in those wins. The offense looks better. The run game looks better. Dez and Witten have seen less double teams. Only two things have changed from 4 weeks ago in New Orleans and that's the whole Wade Wilson, JG and Callahan situation and Miles has been healthy.

And the fact that we've played two of the leagues worst teams.

Nah, it's nobody's fault. Nobody's fault that this team has flushed away close to $20 million for players contributing nothing.

The NFL is about production, not nostalgia. Austin is getting paid like a Top 10 receiver and contributing nothing.

Situations like this are exactly why teams lose.

Prime pay for poor production.

If Austin was doing anything close to what some of you think, he'd be tearing up the field and not another hamstring.

But instead he's a ghost, all too willing to fade into the background until the Turk comes calling.

Will you feel the same way if Romo misses a lot of time? Teams cannot predict injuries. You have to lock people up when you can and there are going to be, in retrospect, deals that you wish you hadn't made. There are draft picks that don't work out. ALL teams have this problem although I admit freely that we aren't the best club with cap management.

What does that have to do with anything? They aren't winless. The Giants were coming off a 4 game win streak and the Raiders beat a Chargers team that we lost to. So if it occurs against the Bears next week are we going to get "Its just the Bears..." type comments to? So its going to take the post season for you to acknowledge any form of improvement in this offense?

We've been playing the same caliber of teams all year. What all of a sudden we've been playing the Raiders of the world lol. Cowboys are in no position to call anyone "inferior" with how inconsistent they've been.

The records speak for themselves.

New Orleans, a good team, obliterates us. Then we play two more bottom-feeders and folks suddenly feel good again, and it's thanks to Miles Austin and his Invisa-stats?

You have not watched amendola much. Amendola is quicker, has better hands, much more elusive,.. At this point in their careers, its not close. Our 5th option on offense is not better than Danny amendola in his prime. Miles is one of the worst value contracts on our team. Who cares what're injury is?? What matters is how often their injured, and the fact remains, amendola has been more reliable this season.

Nobody's winless!

Having a win doesn't equal good.

. 500 is the definition of average.

When we beat an above average team, then let me know.

That Giants 4- game win streak came against terrible teams and rookie/backup quarterbacks, not hard to see if yore actually looking.

Just like our pattern. Beat sub .500 teams, lose to above .500 teams.

Miles Austin or not.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

Your right which goes back to my point the Cowboys are in no position to call anyone "inferior". These teams are too close to do such. As of right now we are closer to the Raiders than we are the Seahawks.

We have 7 wins. The giants have only 4. That makes them inferior.

No GM in the world would take miles Austin over Danny amendola at this point in time. That is laughable. Amendola has the much higher value.

A Bears team with their actual starting quarterback?

If that happens, against. 6-5 team, I'll feel good about it, and we can talk about it then.

Until then, it's wishful thinking.

I never said having a win equals good. My point is, they have beat teams. And we very well could've been one of those teams. We aren't the Seahawks. We could've lost to the Raiders yesterday.

So who is a above average team. I'll remember to let you know then. Bears aren't above average because they stink and if we beat them they'll probably either have more losses than wins or be a .500 team. How about the Packers? May or may not have Rodgers but he'll be hurt so that win won't count. Then we have Eagirls and Deadskins....I guess i'll have to contact you in the post season when we finally beat someone....?

I've seen enough form Amendola to know that he's nowhere near a healthy Miles league and if he was on this team he'd probably be our 5th option behind Demarco, Witten, Miles and Dez.

My only problem with Miles Austin is he's always hurt. Seems every year he misses substantial time. When he comes back his timing with Romo is off. I'm glad he blocks downfield but when the money shot comes his way the lost time with Romo hurts the team.
Other than that he's great.

So in order for me to get back to you it will take beating a Bears team WITH Cutler? Am I understanding that correctly? Doesn't Cutler need a few games back in order to get healthy in order for us to consider that a good win?

It's especially troubling when you paint yourself into a corner and have no other options.

If Romo misses a ton of time and then stinks when he returns, we can have the conversation then.

I think you would be hard-pressed to find a team, other than the Raiders, spending more money on players not contributing this year.

A dubious distinction.
