If he can’t hold up physically at the position he is most effective at, what is his true value? Highest paid defensive player ever?

If I’m the Cowboys I’m trading, not paying, great player not sure I’d consider him generational like some here claim.

We ask him to play both LB and Edge, if he's in the game he's either chasing down RBs or pass rushing at 100% intensity....usually until he's crawling to make the play.
He is the player you build around, BUT, we need to use him sparingly (scheme around him as a decoy...for Fowler/Armstrong/Willisms to benefit).
I guess we need Clark and Williams to take some of the load. It'll be interesting where we take a LB/DE in the draft.

The Raiders could afford him, they were in a semi rebuild mode. It's beyond ridiculous to give someone an enormous contract when you're rebuilding. His talent and their money would be wasted.

When's this rebuild? If you mean not extending Dak, in that eventuality don't we just just build a formidable Defense (presumably under Quinn as HC).

Maybe. Just maybe. If Stephen kept his yap shut about "Todd Gurley's contract being the FLOOR for negotiations with Zeke" they wouldnt have had to overpay him as much. Just a thought.

Will be edge money. No way he gets MLB money. He needs to be moved around more this year. He is getting burned out towards end of year.

Goes to show that the know it alls on this site that said "if he isnt rushing the passer from the edge 99 percent of the time then the coaches are stupid" know absolutely nothing about football.

So many fans see Defense through the eyes of more individualistic Offense. Another example ....why does the man mountain Hankins stats not look great (in isolation), whereas he makes LVE look like an excellent run stopper.

I know this may sound crazy but is it possible this could come down to Dak or Parsons? Just don't see how we can afford both contracts for more than a year or two ( that's overlapping) and field a competitive team.

I’m sure he is center piece of every offensive scheme, and I’m sure it creates opportunities for his teammates to make plays because of this, like every great defensive player.
My point I guess is the concern posted regularly on this board regarding proper use, or wearing him out, or the fatigue of battling 300 plus pound linemen etc and making him the highest paid defensive player in the league.
He trade value will never be higher than it is right now.

why do people even question extending dak??? the Cowboys will be EXTENDING DAK... it isnt even a question. ONLY questions are for how long and how much. Why dont we just build a formidable defense???? what would you say we had last year? In todays NFL rosters are 2 years at a time. You simply lose too many players. What is gonna happen after we extend Diggs, Micah and CeeDee to our roster? Dak gonna get huge money,and same with those others.... we better win now, as we are about to have a damn hard time dealing with the cap.
