He's just saying that to get a rise.

I fail to see how Gurode, who was a Pro Bowler and per our coaches one of the best, was worse than all but one of our offensive line starters.
No, I'm not. Gurode is horrible in space. He can't pick up a defender in space to save his life. He was the direct cause of numerous stalled drives throughout the season. When Gurode has his man directly in front of him and he's told to lock on, he's amazing. He really is. He won't let anyone past him and he'll drive them into the ground on running plays. But when he's in space he's just plain bad. The problem is that he's asked to play in space quite a bit.

The Pro Bowl means absolutely nothing. I don't care about our coach's opinion or the entire league's opinion. I disagree with the majority opinion quite a bit. I develop my own opinion by watching each player in each game numerous times.

You might want to care at least a little bit about what our coachs think of the players. After all, they are the ones who know what plays are called, what each player's assignments are, etc.......

And they're not infallible. I can't know when they're wrong or right unless I form my own opinion.

If I was someone else, I'd take a coach's opinion over some guy on an anonymous website, but what the hell does that have to do with me formulating my own opinion from what I see myself? Seriously, keep up with the conversation.

If McQ beats our Kosier, I hope it's because he has shown the abilitiy to play at a higher level than Kosier NOT because Kosier's play is slipping. I honestly didn't expect to hear of McQ challenging for a starting position until next year this time.

I would prefer to see both kosier and McQ on the line at the same time, they are our too ugliest linemen, thats gotta be scary to look over and see those two mugs looking back.

If they keep bouncing him from LT to LG to C, he won't be able to mount a concerted enough effort to take anyone's job.

It is nice to be a jack of all trades. But eventually, he needs to master one.

Exactly. This guy has no pedigree. I'd think the NFL is a pretty high echelon to be learning a trade.

I agree that switching positions so often can be risky for Pat, but don't we have athletes that played a completely different sport in college but have made a successful transition to the NFL?

Heck, we have a guy we paid a big signing bonus to that was a LT last year and is a RG this year.

oh ya good god we have some beasts on the oline, with those three, I suspect at least one linebacker each game will be too scared to rush the passer, some of the smallish linemen will be as well. We need more uglies if you ask me.

According to DC.com Pat McQuistan might be challenging Kyle Kosier for the starting left tackle position....

I like the idea of this because of McQuistan size and abilities. Would yall as fans like to see this and if so who do you think is going to win that position over?

Well, I haven't read this yet. If this were to happen, then my guess is from a blocking perspective Dallas wants more straight line blockers on the interior and more mobile offensive tackles. Last year Flozell was Flozell, but Kosier and Rivera are more known for their mobility (well, when Rivera was healthy) and pulling and trapping. I think Kosier can have a really big season if he stays healthy. Last year his problems came with blitz and stunt recognition and considering this was his first year with the O-Line, it's likely he'll get better at that part of the game. I guess I'm not really buying into Kosier challenging Flozell at this point.

Now, only if we can figure out how to let them play without thier helmets.:D

It wasnt an issue of you forming your opinion but rather a perspective on mine. I happen to agree with the coaching staff nothing more and nothing less. The comment on keeping up with the conversationw as nice but made little sense.

I saw those clips from the Seattle game that you probably factor pretty heavily in your view of Gurode but while you saw a guy that couldnt make blocks in space I saw Jones not setting up his blocks and making his cuts before the block was made.

if bringing a wrong point of view is bringing something to the discussion

I'm glad I don't then

edit: not talking about you theo, although I would put Gurode 1 or 2 spots higher than 4th best lineman on the team, just Fuzzy, who's been wrong for a good while now
