It could mean rushing Ware all the time from different spots or it could mean moving Ratliff to end.

You're fooling yourself if you don't think this is Wade Phillips' defense.

If Wade Phillips isn't running the defense, then what the heck is he doing. He sure isn't calling the offensive plays and he definately isn't motivating the players.

This is Wade's defense and Brian Stewart is there to get some experience and to be the fall guy if things go south.

The only place that Wade would put even the subtlest blame was on Brian Stewart. Looks like Wade is going to be more involved there. He said something like "there are some things that we could be doing on defense - things we have in our arsenal - but we haven't utilized them. And we're evaluating that."

I was just getting ready to start a thread, his press conference was pathetic. I feel no better seeing his bashed and bruised psychie. I cant see this team being any better next week. AND I SWEAR IM NOT BEING NEGATIVE. I want them to be better I want them to win, but he sounds so pathetic like he lost his puppy. The way he reacts to adversary will be a refection in the team.

If he is not jumping on them in private, that would be one thing. There is no long-term good that can come from a coach throwing his players under the bus to appease some fans.

You sell a product.
That product is required to meet certain expectations.
This Cowboys product is not meeting them.

So the fans have a right to be angry and frustrated.

I know this is a place for opinions but most of the people's opinions here are so far off base.

GMAFB. This same group of players has a habit of late season collapses, I seriously doubt that this group are a bunch of a fighters.

wade just mentioned they are evaluating taking away defensive playcalling from stewart and doing it himself - which means that is 1 change that will be made bc he said they are "evaluating" it..so yes.

Nothing to 'evaluate' Wade. This guy is helping to cost you your job. Your only chance to save it has to come from you.

At least go down swinging!

I disagree Mick... I'm pretty sure the players said last year that Stewart was actually making the calls on defense. (As much as I don't understand that -- if I were Wade, I'd have been doing it from the start.)

And on the part about players losing their jobs, Larry Brown was going berzerk yesterday about that and referring to the Jimmy years. But as we all know, Jimmy pretty much only cut and benched the scrubs. He might've benched a struggling vet for a promising rookie, but we don't have that with so many people hurt. Not sure it benefits the team to bench Flozell for Doug Free if that means your QB just gets hit more often.

I can live with this, now as far as personnel changes, wady said he didnt think any would come as of now so far

Need to streamline some calls, cut it down, so easier for players;;

running game hurt us and thats where we need to address and the pass rush;

Changes with himself?...Uhh, how old is he again?...61?...What's that about old dog and new tricks?...And exactly what had to happen for him to FINALLY decide a change was needed?...Come on, this is the rantings of a coach on his way out

No, he said they would start focusing on the things they do well and eliminating the things they don't do well. It may or may not have anything to do with the players knowing what to do -- and Wade said knowing what to do isn't the problem. To me, it sounds like it's more about what the players can do and what they can't do, not about what they know.

Yeah, I could be wrong about Brian Stewart, but I think Wade does have more input than people think.

Yes, Jimmy Johnson would only get rid of guys that weren't good but I bet it sent a message to alot of the players on the team.

Im not saying you should bench anybody, what I am saying is you have to somehow create an atmosphere that players will be held accoutable for making dumb plays, lackluster effort and quitting.

Then the Patriots have half assed lazy players letting Brady get hurt.

Same can be said for every player that gets injured, it is always somebody elses fault they got hurt
