They need to know they aren't as bad as everyoen is making them out to be.

lol...i dont think we have to worry about that with this team...their fall back comments are always "well we have the talent..."

Although I will say that in all this talk about playcalling, yesterday wasn't about that. It was about heart and effort, and we showed little of either.

That could be tied into the respect they defense has of Brian Stewart. Rememebr the side-line shot of Ware speaking to Stweart, who was trying to 'rally the troops'. Maybe this team just has no heart, because they see the play-calling of Stewart leading nowhere. Think about it, every sack by this team has been pretty much an individual effort sack. None of it comes from exotic schemes and when we did employ some nice schemes, such as the corener blitz off the edges, they worked. Yet, we aren't employing more of them. When we played more man coverage against Cincinatti, we showed imporvement.

There have been grumblings in Valley Ranch for awhile regarding more press coverage, more pressure and so forth.

No, he said they would start focusing on the things they do well and eliminating the things they don't do well. It may or may not have anything to do with the players knowing what to do -- and Wade said knowing what to do isn't the problem. To me, it sounds like it's more about what the players can do and what they can't do, not about what they know.
So what do our defensive players do well? I'm not sure we even know this yet.

We're playing a lot of rookies on defense and a lot of freakin' idiots on offense, so to me "scaling back" means we're going back to basics...we're going to run certain plays and run them well...execute, execute, execute.

If you believe the whole talent thing about the Cowboys, then playing basic ball, avoiding mistakes, and perfecting execution should mean we WIN because we have the best talent and we've been beating ourselves. Less thinking also means players being more aggressive because they aren't thinking so much.

It also means that perhaps some of our mistakes, penalties, etc. will be cut back. If you don't believe that our talent is very good, or that it's over-rated, then scaling back still means fewer mistakes and close games.

We haven't been beating teams by trying to outsmart them and relying on big plays...maybe it's time to start grinding and try to win by keeping the ball on offense, maintaining methodical drives and keeping games close.

Clearly, we need to spend more practice time on blocking, tackling, and special teams...therefore, there's less practice time for putting in huge game plans that never get used or executed.

We need to keep it simple and start executing with passion.

That's what it means to me, which is not the same thing as "dumbing it down."

Scale back? This mean we skip the rest of the season? It gets anymore dumbed down we'll be known as the Dallas Tardboys..............

Are these players that stupid? Scale back? What the hell for? What are we doing that is so complicated anyway. I don't get it.....:bang2:

These are great points...but points that could've and should've been applied a few weeks back...For me, that's what is the most revealing...Waiting until it's completely obvious to anyone that it's broke, to fix it...Where was this weeks ago when we were hearing 'It's no big deal'?

My problem has to do with the whole 'As long as some changes are coming...' claim...What changes?...And where have those needed changes been up until now?...Let's be honest here, these aren't new problems, they are problems that simply got bigger and more obvious to those not paying attention.

Things may end up changing or getting better but I have zero confidence that this coaching staff will have anything to do with it...To suggest otherwise is to confirm that they hadn't been doing their jobs up until now anyway...So hard to understand how the future will mean they will start doing it much less doing it better

i do agree this should have been done after the washinton game, but unfortunately, sometimes people like wade are hardheaded and dont think they have to change

Yes, I do think that wade will be calling the defensive signals from now on, period. As far as offensively, I think jason garrett will have jerry jones breathing down his neck too.

Then other changes were talked about scaling down the 1st and 2nd down on defense, that is needed the run defense is getting stomped on. Wade also said pass protection and run needs working on too.

so, yes i do think changes are coming, should it have been done 2 to 3 weeks ago yes.

I still think that the biggest problem is the lack or seemingly lack of wade saying i will hold the players accountable and do something about it. Just like one media writer pinpointed him and said, wade, when will the players be accountable to you and you do something about it, wade would reply, i have to do a better job of getting them to play harder and better.

That is where i have a problem, when a player keeps playing sloppy, just like wade said, we have had a center QB exchange problem the last 2 games. Now, thats where some type of discipline should be done and done now.

Of course im not the qb, but you did say wade and jerry that changes are coming and you are going to fix it now, so its in your hands now, do something about it, just not words, but action.

Why do I picture Wade paying a woman to chain him to a wall, spank him and tell him he's a bad boy?

I just gotta say that if Wade acts and talks to the players the way he talked in the pc today those players are probably falling asleep listening to him. I just don't see how he can pump up a team when he can get so frazzled when asked some legit questions during the pc's. It all just sickens me at this point.

Yeah, he just said that. I am listening to the Press Conference now.

But to be honest, alot of the fans think the players are good enough.

I think the players are overrated and lack heart.

No heart on this team...

Should have got Ray Lewis or Joey Porter...

No attitude, no clout .. just a bunch of mild mannered tangs that have them too..

judging from the responses and im glad i didnt hear the PC. this is just out of hand now and its up to somebody i dont know who honestly because other than jerry we dont have anyone who can step up and say we are turning this around. and it shouldnt be jerry's job to turn the mentality around! This team has seriously hit rock bottom and it only seems like its gonna get worse before it gets better...

Do we have dumb players? It sure appears that we do. It seems like this has happened the last few years. We'll start playing poorly and the coach will say that we need to simplify things.

I'm so tired of dumb players who can't digest a damn playbook.
