Peppers on his way out? Boys one Possibility?

On one hand, I want Peppers badly....having him opposite Ware, we would unleash so much fury if both were to stay healthy.

On the other hand, his age and price tag make me say NO THANK YOU. He can take his game elsewhere. If he hadn't committed so much money into players like T.O., Flo, Crayton, Roy Sooner, and even Roy Longhorn.....then I wouldn't mind taking on such a big contract.....also, no way am I going after him before I secure Ware for the long term.

I say PASS.....give that money to DWare and to the draft picks. If we draft wisely this year and in the near future, there is no reason why we can't build a dominant team on both sides of the ball.

Age? Isn't his age about where players are in their prime? I don't think they will get him either. No way the Panthers don't get draft picks from another team. I would expect teams are waiting until right before the draft.

When did I say "Ellis for Peppers"? I'm talking about releasing him saves that much.

Yea, but then when the Cowboys trade Spencer, which he certainly has to be part of the package, there goes all savings on Ellis' release.

Your boy isn't that good and he gives up on alot of plays. There's a reason he was a top five pick and now he's fallen off the face of the earth. No thanks.

I agree. As a 1st round draft pick, certainly top 5, he wouldn't be worth it because of what you're saying. However, as 2nd round pick, we'd be getting first round talent ( top 5 talent ) for a 2nd round price.

It's easier to coach talent than it is find it.

Let someone else pay Peppers huge money. I think Spencer is a very good player and will prove a lot of people wrong this year because I have a feeling he's going to phase Ellis out more and more.
Peppers is the sort of player you do that for, and you can never have too many pass rushers. I believe I read that Peppers is 2nd in the NFL in sacks since he came into the league. You don't get a chance to add players like that very often.

The problem is that Dallas has given big time $$$ to several current Cowboys who aren't big time players. The odds are that at some point the salary cap will be an issue in the future, and Jones has to at least plan for the contingency that it could be.

I'm all for the idea of building through the draft and not spending a huge part of our cap $$$ on other teams free agents. But when you have a chance to add an elite pass rusher, you do it.

The reality is, though, that Carolina will want a 1st rounder & more, and Dallas has no first rounder to give. There's probably no way to make it happen, short of ridiculously overpaying.

Sorry but James only has shown one season that he can get sacks. Spencer for all your bleating has shown NOTHING. He was replacing ELLIS on third downs and getting a lot of playing time late in the season- so where was the PRODUCTION? NOWHERE.

He was replacing Ellis on 1st and 2nd downs, becasue Wade said he was more physical against the run than Ellis was. Ellis was still coming in on passing downs.

I would love for it to, but it's not gonna happen.

Abd abd abd, That's all folks!

So he was getting 2 downs to accomplish more and did not. Sort of weakens your arguement there about him being so valuable.

I am so tired of hearing about Julius Peppers if we get him then that would be good, if we don't get him then we don't. So please lets just stop talking about this, let's move on:starspin :starspin :starspin
